Chapter 12 - 12 | First 10 Gacha Pulls

[Aiden's POV]

I exhaled and took a deep breath; it had been thrilling and slightly challenging at the beginning, but the sigils were good help in the absence of skills, and the last moment with Boss was really eye-opening. It's very powerful, and I need better control of it.

The system panel flickered again after giving information about the reward and boss kill.

[You have cleared this one-time dungeon; it will collapse in under a minute. Please exit the dungeon.]

Before I could think about how to exit, the same portal from which I entered appeared before me.

I stepped in and reached my quarters; it was early morning. It took me around 4-5 hours to clear that dungeon. I jumped into the bed to take a breather; after that I freshened up to remove sweat and grime, ready to try my luck.

Suddenly, I remembered seeing a blank in my luck stat earlier and asked, "Hey, System, why was the luck stat blank the last time I checked after evolution?"

[As a Primarch, your luck can't be measured according to the mortal scale of 1-10, but rather it depends on your actions, so it is always in flux. The way in which your actions affect the universe and your surroundings is how your luck will change.]

"Ohh...good to know. Now how to do these Gacha things now? Last time I just watched; would it be the same?" I nodded at the system's explanation and further asked.

[Open your Gacha Interface, then select the banner under which you want to pull Gacha.]

[Also note that whenever you pull under a new banner for the first time. There's a guaranteed chance of an SSS-rank reward if you perform a 10 or higher bundle pull.]

[So the system will advise you to perform Bundle Gacha Pulls to increase the chances of a higher reward.]

[The probability of getting a higher rank reward is as follows:]

S-Rank – 100%

SS-Rank – ~10%

SSS-Rank – ~1%

Transcendent – <1%

Infinite – Chance, Need, and Luck of Host

[The more Gacha you pull at a time, the higher the chances of higher-rank rewards.]

"Hmm...okay, it's good to know the framework of rewards," I muttered, then opened the Gacha interface with a thought.

====[GACHA INTERFACE]====

– Permanent Gacha Banners

1. Skills & Techniques banner

2. Resource banner

3. Summon banner

4. Dimensional banner

– Temporary Gacha Banners

Available according to events, places, and host choices.

1 Gacha Pull costs 10 OP

[RESOURCE]

Origin points – 240 points

Free pulls – 1 pull per day

==========

"When is Free Pull available?" I asked.

[Every Afternoon]

"Okay, I have 240 points, which means 24 pulls," I whispered as I looked at the banners available.

I was deciding whether to put all pulls into the Skills banner to maximize the chances of getting a skill to mask my Aetheris Record.

I wanted to try out the Summon banner too; I was curious to know what kind of being or beast would be summoned.

After mulling it over for about a minute, I decided.

"Okay, the first priority is to get skills for masking; after that I will think about something else. So I want to use 100 OP for 10 Gacha pulls in the Skills & Techniques banner." I presented my thoughts to the system.

[Would the host like to roll for 10 consecutive Gacha Pulls in the Skills & Techniques banner?]

"Yeah. Hit it." I confirmed; it's exciting to see the results.

The system panel widened, and the same situation as when I performed the Starter Pack gacha pull occurred.

The widened panel and multicolored cards started rolling horizontally; the signature 'tick' sound reached my ears, increasing my anticipation.

The cards slowed down, and lastly a bluish card, the signature of an S-rank card, occupied the brightest spot in the roll. The card rose up and stored itself in the upper left corner, and the same process continued again.

The gacha roll continued for 4 times, each time with an S-rank reward, but I peeled my eyes for the guaranteed SSS-rank reward.

However, at the 6th attempt, a violet-colored card with silvery-white veins settled in the brightest, confirming SS-rank. I was tempted to stop the roll and check it immediately, but I stopped myself.

It was still weird to me how in a single attempt, I felt like I almost getting addicted to gacha roll. The next three rolls also stopped with bluish-colored cards.

Now for the final roll, my heart started beating loudly. Will I get the SSS-rank skill? The system has said so, so I will definitely get this. The roll continued with 'tick'-'tick,' as I held my breath for the result. The card finally stopped at the brightest spot.

"Yes!!" I exclaimed.

I focused on all the 10 gacha cards floating in front of me.

[Which card would Host like to reveal first?]

"I am thinking of the SS-rank and SSS-rank, but I should check out other ones first." I thought out loud.

The 8 cards vanished one by one, giving a list of a multitude of skills. I was totally stumped seeing the variety and effects of skills.

I have read and heard that S-rank skills are top of the market because SS- and SSS-rank skills are never on the market and are sold via auctions.

About an hour ago, I was lamenting the absence of skills, and here I am, swimming in S-rank skills with SS-rank and SSS-rank still to go.

I went through all the skills and chose the best options for me currently.

The rest of the skills were Mana Thread control, Phantom Step, and Resonant Guard, most effective for mages, assassins, and warriors.

After sorting out all the S-rank skills, I choose the only SS-rank skill. It also dissolved in air, and the system presented the information.

[SS-rank Skill: Absolute Read]

[Type: Universal | Combat perception]

[Description: A temporary combat domain where the user perceives intent, trajectory, and outcome probabilities of action around you.]

[Effects:]

It predicts enemy attack path spell formation.

Reveals optimum offensive and defensive response.

Truly deserving of SS-rank skill. This skill would perfectly help me better my fighting technique.

Now with all the 9 pulls finished. I was also slightly disappointed for not getting the desired skill, but still the gain from this was immense.

Now my eyes fell on the final card of the pull; the bright red-colored card swirled up and disintegrated.

[You have obtained an SSS-rank Skill]
