'I've recorded everything in my head now.' Leonhart mused inwardly after hearing the last person of the Holders within their circle.
Out of the 21 people present, already excluding Leonhart's grandparents, 7 of them are Holders.
Leonhart was able to conclude that he was the only one amongst the group in the second generation Holder, which means the current Holders from their group are all first generation.
The difference between the two generations is apparent, and it's the fact that the ability has a chance to evolve or mutate. It doesn't matter if both parents are Holders or only one is.
Leonhart was just lucky to have both parents, who were Holders and inherited their abilities.
Leonhart looked in Yuri's direction and mused. 'I didn't think Yuri would also be a Holder. His men were surprised, which already says that he had hidden that information very well.'
"Anyways, I'm sure there's a reason you asked us, and it's not like laws will still be applied if the world is ending and strange things are happening. So, what is it, kid?"
The one who raised the concern was no other than the leader of the firefighters, Aldi Monti.
A muscular, well-defined physique built from years of physical labor, Aldi had deep-set eyes and a weathered face with faint burn marks, clear signs of years of experience. He had his standard firefighter turnout gear unzipped, revealing a fitted undershirt.
He's one of the 7 present Holders.
Leonhart stared at Aldi for a brief moment and nodded. "Obviously, because what you just witnessed isn't the end, nor will it be anytime soon. Everyone, I want you to look at your screens again. Then, go check your status window."
Status Window.
When the previous crisis was happening, Leonhart couldn't find his status window on the screen. He tried calling it out while everyone was exiting the gates, but to no avail, nothing was appearing.
That's when he concluded something, a ridiculous assumption.
The only reason he was able to see his status window 'before' the fall could even happen was that he had already experienced it in the first place.
It was never meant to be seen in the first crisis.
It was a predetermined reward that had been designed by the 'system' after an individual finished their scenario, as if nothing would ever breach it, since it's not possible to return to the first crisis after accomplishing or even experiencing it.
Who would want to return to the first lap of the race if you're already on the last turn?
However, due to Time Exchange, Leonhart cracked the system. Someone who didn't even get to finish one lap returned to the past, saw the programmed reward, and did the race with a surer victory.
[Status Window]
'No error. The predetermined reward that I concluded has just increased. It's a twisted conclusion that I could only come up with since I was the only one to remember that day.' Leonhart mused inwardly and looked around the place.
The Holders can be visibly shaken when an accurate description of their abilities is shown on their fronts.
Well, it didn't mean that others could see another status window or holographic screens, which made Leonhart conclude that the only screens they could see were their own.
'I wonder what is being displayed to the people who don't have any abilities. Oh well, I'll ask my grandparents about it later.'
Leonhart gives a few minutes for the people to adjust before speaking once more.
"As you can see, we're in the new world. The only thing we could do is adjust. That's why I want to give my insights regarding what is really happening."
Once Leonhart caught everyone's attention, he added. "Let's make this in simpler terms so that everyone can understand. Think of everything that has happened as a game. A very deadly game."
Leonhart pointed his finger at anyone it landed on and continued. "And each of us can be called players."
Leonhart started doing extensive explanation, remembering the knowledge he had in regards to playing games, and tried to put similarity to his words.
Crisis and rewards, the basic functions of a game.
Obstacles and abilities, one of the important factors of a game.
Lastly, the System that seems to govern everything related to the game.
He ended his explanation regarding this point of view and said. "Thinking about how or why this game was created in the first place and why we're forced to be players is not going to tell us anything at all. Hence, what we're going to focus on is the current crisis that we must handle. In that way, we'll survive."
[Next Crisis: The Library That Predicts You]
"I'm sure I'm not the only one who could see the next crisis that we're going to tackle." Leonhart highlighted before he added. "However, there's a huge difference between the previous crisis and the upcoming one."
Someone interrupted Leonhart, who did it with good intentions as he spoke.
"There's no clear goal at all." Mark, Leonhart's professor, voiced out as he looked at everyone. "Previously, the goal was to escape Hansok University. I'm sure escaping at the gate wasn't the only solution since you can jump over the walls or use any means just to get out."
"Correct." Yuri joined in as his brows knitted. "This time it is different. Because there's no clue, it's going to be dangerous. It's also safe to assume that we will also receive no instructions, just like the previous one, as it didn't tell us specifically how to escape or such."
Aldi whispered under his breath. "A library that can predict you, huh."
Leonhart felt that the mood in the circle dampened once the circumstances showed. However, that wasn't his goal for saying it.
Clapping his hands to get their attention, Leonhart produced a cheeky smile and said. "That doesn't mean we're going to enter this library empty-handed. Again, one of the core principles of a game is the rewards. Thankfully, we got something out of the first crisis."
[Do you want to open the rewards?]
"Everyone, how about we get some rewards now?" Leonhart's smile grew wider as a huge wooden chest appeared on his front.
It wasn't just Leonhart that received it.
Everyone had received a thing or two as wooden boxes appeared on their front, however, not as big as Leonhart, which made things a bit awkward.
Yet Leonhart didn't give a damn as he looked forward to the rewards.
[Do you want to open the rewards?]
The system asked once more.
This time, Leonhart answered.
"Yes."
