Raj relaxed on the high-speed airship, enjoying every bit of luxury around him.
The ship's interior looked like a lavish mansion — polished floors, soft lighting, and comfortable seating.
"If only I had a few beautiful girls with me," he smirked to himself. "Then life would be perfect."
Now that he had fully embraced the role of a villain, he figured he shouldn't just be conquering Pokémon — he should be conquering hearts too.
Thanks to the airship's incredible speed, Raj reached Pewter City in just a few hours.
The city was filled with rocky landscapes, and everywhere he looked, he saw people walking around with Rock-type Pokémon.
Stones of every shape and color decorated the streets and buildings.
Raj didn't waste any time. He immediately stopped a passerby and asked for directions to the Pewter City Gym.
He knew that the gym had recently been taken over by Brock's father, meaning he wouldn't get to witness the heartwarming reunion between father and son.
Still, Raj was determined to earn the Boulder Badge.
[Ding! Host has triggered a Growth Mission.

Just as Raj arrived at the gym's entrance, the system's notification chimed in, making his grin widen.
"Nice timing," he muttered.
He pushed open the heavy gym doors. "Is anyone here? I'm here to challenge the gym! Uh, I mean— I'm here for a gym battle!"
The lights flickered on, illuminating the rocky interior.
A middle-aged man stood inside, holding a bucket and wiping down one of the gym's stone walls.
"So, you're here for a challenge?" the man asked, setting down his bucket.
"Yes, sir. I'm here to challenge you," Raj replied confidently.
"Alright," the man nodded. "The rules are simple — two Pokémon each. The last Pokémon standing wins."
Raj took his position on the opposite platform as the gym leader climbed onto his own.
"Let's go, Geodude!"
The man threw out a Poké Ball, and a rock-shaped Pokémon materialized with a deep rumble.
[Ding! Geodude (Owned)
Type: Rock
Because its stone body is magnetic, pieces of iron ore stick to it, increasing its defense. Commonly found in mountains and grasslands. Many adventurers mistake it for a rock and trip over it.
Moves: Tackle, Defense Curl, Rock Throw, Self-Destruct, Rock Blast
Power Level: 280]
Raj smirked. "Easy."
His Haunter had a combat power of 510 — more than enough to crush this thing.
"Come out, Haunter!"
The ghost Pokémon appeared in a swirl of purple mist, its eerie laughter echoing through the gym.
"You've trained that Haunter well," the gym leader said, clearly impressed. "It looks strong."
"Thanks, old man. Let's start."
"Haunter, use Hypnosis!"
Haunter's eyes glowed as waves of drowsy energy radiated outward.
But the gym leader was quick. "Geodude, stay alert! Don't get hypnotized! Charge forward and use Tackle!"
Geodude's body glowed faintly as it shook off the drowsiness and rushed toward Haunter.
Raj chuckled. "Nice try."
"Haunter, float up to dodge, then use Double Team followed by Confuse Ray!"
Multiple Haunters split across the field, surrounding Geodude in a dizzying swarm. The little Rock-type spun in confusion, unable to find the real target.
"Geodude, use Defense Curl!"
But it was too late. Haunter's eyes flashed again, releasing a burst of strange light that hit Geodude head-on.
BOOM!
Dust and debris filled the air. When it cleared, only Haunter remained hovering. Geodude lay flat on the ground, eyes spiraling.
"You've won the first round," the gym leader admitted, recalling his fallen Pokémon. "But don't think you'll win that easily again. Go, Onix!"
A massive stone serpent erupted from the Poké Ball, letting out a thunderous roar as it coiled around the battlefield.
[Ding! Onix (Owned)
Type: Rock/Ground
A massive Pokémon with a powerful rocky body. Known for its intimidating defense.
Moves: Dig, Roar, Earthquake, Iron Tail, Bind, Harden
Power Level: 370]
Raj eyed it carefully. "A bit stronger, but still not enough."
"Haunter, use Dark Pulse!"
Dark energy pulsed from Haunter, distorting the air and flickering the lights in the gym.
"Onix, use Roar to regain your composure!"
The ground trembled as Onix roared back, trying to shake off the panic caused by the Dark Pulse.
"It's useless," Raj said coldly. "Haunter, Double Team, then finish it with Nightmare and Whisper!"
Dozens of Haunters surrounded Onix again, their ghostly whispers echoing in the air. The giant serpent began to tremble uncontrollably.
Onix tried to hold its ground, but Haunter's eerie voice seeped into its mind, draining its energy.
"Don't struggle too much, big guy," Raj taunted. "It'll be over soon. Haunter, Hypnosis, one more time!"
Haunter's eyes glowed brightly, and within seconds, Onix's roar faded. Its body slumped to the floor with a heavy thud, completely asleep.
The gym was silent except for Raj's soft laugh.
"Sleep tight, big guy."
