Jin nods—slow, ashamed. His voice cracks.
> *"I don't want to… but I can *feel* it. Pulling. Inside my chest. In my teeth… in the dark things on my back…"*
He looks down at his shaking hands.
> *"I'm scared, Rael… I'm so scared I'll hurt you."*
Rael leans close. His hands cup Jin's face, tilting his lover's eyes back up to meet his. He whispers:
> *"You won't hurt me."*

His thumbs stroke lightly across Jin's cheeks, trying to soothe the tremors in those hands.
> *"Look at me, love. You won't hurt me. I know you, remember? You're good inside. You'd never do anything to hurt me."*
Jin's eyes meet his again.
> *"I... I might not have a choice…"*

Rael takes a deep breath. He looks into Jin's eyes… and sees the change. The hunger in those dark irises.
The way his lover's eyes go even darker as the light shifts.
The way his lips pull back against those jagged, black-spiked teeth. Like a beast wanting blood.
