Rael doesn't think—he just *moves*.
He runs down the hallway, Jin safe in his arms. Mira and L run with them, sprinting as fast as they can, away from that dark sound of scraping stone and the heavy, hungry growls that follow.
The hall is empty, echoing. Shadows writhe on the walls—writhing, hungry like creatures alive. Rael sprints past, breathing fast… until suddenly, the hall widens, and light appears up ahead.

The hall ends in an old steel door—rusted with age, but still solid. Rael slows—he's *exhausted*, legs shaking from pain and carrying Jin.
L pushes ahead and puts his palms against the door. He takes a deep breath… then shoves, grunting with effort.
The door grinds open with a *screech*. A blast of cool, dry air hits them all—and then… the smell.
A smell of dust… and stale blood.
