Chapter 25 - Blackstone Fortress

"Hazel and I will go to the information center," Felix said while looking at his three teammates. "We might learn something there."

Every survival base had an information center, which acted as the hub where chaos and order met. It was publicly accessible to espers and ordinary humans, including visitors from other bases.

Large wooden panels of bulletin boards could be found there, lined with daily tasks, hunting missions, scavenging requests and emergency alerts. The base itself or individuals could issue these.

The espers were required to register for the job they were interested in. Then, they had to report the results, submit proof of kills or hand in supplies hunted from the ruins.

Each mission was marked with a difficulty level. The higher the level, the bigger the rewards.

The reward could be in any form, whether a portion of the scavenged supplies and hunted zombie crystals, ration coupons, equipment or redeemable contribution points.
