Ashrik said nothing as he watched the team gather near the truck. His gaze lingered briefly on the glowing crystal in Felix's hand before shifting back to the dark forest around them.
Aside from the sound of leaves rustling and his members' chatting, he heard nothing else. The forest was eerily calm after such a fight.
He sensed no more of the oppressive presence of zombies.
"Don't linger," he ordered, one hand brushing over his sweat-soaked hair. "More might come. Dispose of the evidence."
Isaac acted swiftly. A spiral of flames burst forth from his palms, burning each zombie into ashes.
After the others climbed back into the truck, Ashrik utilized his wind ability to blow the ashes and the rotten scent far from this area.
Even if other espers came across this wrecked site later, they would most likely think that a fight had erupted, but wouldn't see any traces of zombies. It wasn't anything new in this chaotic era.
