Chapter 158 - The Giant

"Things are getting interesting," the King of the Deep Sea grinned.

The weakest one actually arrived first, and after devouring flesh and blood he fully stepped into Level Five.

At the crossroads, the intersection and the high-rise beside it had been reduced to rubble.

Liu Zhiyuan, covered in wounds, stood on a three-meter mound of debris; in front of him were Fang Wenyu and the other three.

"Kid, just give up—no Level Five has ever taken the four of us on alone." Wan Tianhong hovered ten meters in the air, flames licking at his feet.

Fang Wenyu didn't even remove his glasses. He looked at Liu Zhiyuan: "I have to admit, you're strong—already at the peak of Level Five—but against the four of us, it's still not enough."

Liu Zhiyuan touched the wound on his face; it was healing. He roared, "Four against one—so this is the Xuanjian Division's style. A truly evil organization! You think I'm afraid of you?"

"Why waste words? Let's finish him!" Qin Wan snorted coldly and charged first.

The moment she moved, the rest rushed Liu Zhiyuan together—they already had his ability figured out.

Buzz! Wan Tianhong blazed into a living fireball, matching the speed of the three below.

Under the fireball's light their shadows shrank to the smallest possible, minimizing any binding or interference.

Watching the four charge, Liu Zhiyuan's body rippled like liquid.

He glared at them and snarled, "You want to kill me? You're not qualified!"

His body ballooned like an over-inflated tire, instantly reaching seven or eight meters.

Bang! The next instant he exploded, releasing a flood of black liquid that sprayed through the air.

The shadows beneath the droplets suddenly stirred, slicing upward to wrap each glob.

The charging four skidded to a halt, warily eyeing the liquid.

Moments later four shadowy spheres hung in the sky.

Buzz! Wan Tianhong thrust out his left hand and a column of fire shot toward a sphere.

Yet the flames were absorbed the instant they neared; the spheres shrank and vanished into thin air.

The four exchanged blank looks—expecting a suicidal blast, only to find Liu Zhiyuan had simply run away.

"Is this guy nuts? If you're fleeing, just flee—why the act?" Cao Li's face darkened; a sure kill had slipped away.

Meanwhile, a fifty-meter Flesh Giant towered, while five-meter Flesh Hounds swarmed at his feet.

Grotesque hounds with four arm-length Fangs charged Zi Wen and Zhu Tianxiao hundreds of meters away.

Thud-squish!

Zhu Tianxiao, buzz-cut and blue-jacketed, had turned both arms into three-meter metal blades, madly cleaving the onrushing hounds.

"Damn it—can't kill these beasts fast enough!" he cursed, muscles bulging.

Bang! The ground beneath him erupted; arms crossed, he rocketed forward.

Thud! Thud!

A red line carved the street as hounds were bisected in droves, splattering him with gore.

Yet the dogs' tough bodies stalled him after only a few dozen meters.

Woof-woof-woof!

Surrounding hounds lunged, massive jaws snapping down.

"Damn—blade's stuck!" Zhu Tianxiao frowned at the hound corpses jamming his metal arms, ignoring the rest charging in.

Whoosh!

Bang-bang-bang!

A curtain of water erupted around him; hounds slammed into it like iron walls and were flung back.

At the street's far end, Zi Wen was ringed by half-meter-thick water streams keeping the dogs at bay.

"At this rate we can't even handle the dogs, let alone the main body," she yelled to Zhu Tianxiao, eyeing the fifty-meter horror in the distance.

Two-on-one and we can't beat mere summons—the other Captains will laugh us to death.

Clenching his teeth, Zhu Tianxiao roared, "Zi Wen, clear me a path—I'll cut that thing down!"

"Fine! I can hold it for one second—you've got to reach the Giant in that time!" she shouted back.

He thrust his hands at the dog-packed street and yelled, "Go!"

The water around him surged into a street-filling, dozen-meter-high torrent.

Rumble! The flood thundered forward, sweeping every hound aside.

Zhu Tianxiao, shielded by a special energy, rode the surge without being washed away.

"It ends now!" Veins bulging, he charged with the deluge toward the Giant.

Yu Shuanghua paid them no heed—his face turned grave as he sensed every Flesh-and-Blood Being weakening or vanishing.

It meant they'd been slain or gravely wounded.

'No more games; other Level Fives will come for me soon.' His eyes flickered.

The flood struck his feet; before he could react, a figure burst from the water.

"Die!" Zhu Tianxiao roared, reaching the Giant's throat, twin arm-blades hacking down.

A clean hit would sever the Giant's head outright.

Bang! A titanic hand broke the sound barrier, a Sonic Boom crashing as it slammed Zhu Tianxiao from the left.

Feeling the motion, he turned—only to meet a colossal palm.

Bang! An explosion of impact sent his body tearing through the air, blasting thousands of meters into the distant city.

"Brother Tianxiao!" Zi Wen stared in shock as the Giant instantly crushed him, trembling.

The Monster's strength was terrifying—so huge yet so agile.

Yu Shuanghua grinned at the 'woman'. "Useless trash—looks like I'll have to handle this myself!"

Unlike other flesh-eaters, he'd fed on discarded Monster and Awakened corpses after experiments.

Those bodies carried far more energy than ordinary people; with Three Flesh Cores, his power had long peaked at Level Five.

'Run!' Facing the Giant, Zi Wen panicked, the single word flashing through her mind.

She spun and fled, swift as lightning.

"Did I say you could run?" Yu Shuanghua stepped forward, body tilting into a sprint stance.

Bang! The ground beneath him exploded as the colossal frame shot forward with impossible speed.
