Chapter 138 - Chapter – 138: The Calm and the Collapse

The university cafeteria was buzzing, but the air at PK's table was thick with a very specific kind of tension.

Lana and Luna sat across from him, their arms crossed in perfect synchronization. They weren't looking at him with the usual sparkle of admiration. Instead, they were staring at him as if he had personally canceled their favorite show.

"What?" PK asked, raising an eyebrow as he opened his lunch. "Why are you guys looking at me like I'm a villain in a K-Drama?"

"You've been a mystery for two days!" Lana burst out, pouting so hard her lower lip nearly touched her chin.

"No Manor. No calls. No texts," Luna added, ticking the offenses off on her fingers. "We're missing you here, and you don't even care about us! You're just... disappearing."

PK paused, the ruthless commander who had just threatened three billionaires ten minutes ago nowhere to be seen. He softened, a small, genuine smile tugging at his lips.

"Sorry, guys. I've been... a little busy with some digital housekeeping," he said gently. "I didn't mean to ignore you. Tell me, how should I make it up to you?"

Lana and Luna's eyes met. The pout vanished, replaced by a mischievous glint that would have made Leonard tremble if he had seen it.

"Oh, we're going to make you suffer for this, PK," Lana whispered. "Prepare your wallet and your Saturday," Luna added. "We're thinking... a full-day shopping spree and you have to carry every bag. No magic tricks, no 'calling a car.' Just you and our shopping lists."

PK let out a mock groan, leaning back. "That's a fate worse than death. Fine. I'm yours on Saturday."

While the girls giggled, planning their "revenge," PK's phone vibrated in his pocket. He didn't check it. He already knew what it was. The gears he had set in motion were crushing the life out of Leonard's empire.

The End of the Road

Across the city, Leonard's office looked like a war zone.

Papers were scattered, the phones wouldn't stop ringing, and his legal team had already walked out. The "Higher Orbit" had cut him off, but he had hoped the Old Guard—Silas and the others—would show some professional courtesy.

Then, his private line rang. It was Silas Blackwell.

"Silas! Thank God," Leonard gasped, leaning over his mahogany desk. "The banks are freezing everything. My family... they're being hounded by creditors. I need a bridge loan. Just five crores to stabilize—"

"Leonard," Silas interrupted. His voice was heavy, filled with a pity that felt like a slap. "I'm not calling to talk about loans. I'm calling to give you the only piece of value you have left."

Leonard froze. "What?"

"Leave Z City," Silas said coldly. "Pack what you can carry and go. Today. By tonight, every asset you own will be tied up in litigation or acquired by our consortium. Your paths are blocked, Leonard. All of them."

"You're destroying me?" Leonard's voice cracked. "We've known each other for twenty years!"

"You offended someone you can't afford to offend," Silas replied. "You walked into a cage thinking you were the lion, only to realize the cage belonged to something much bigger. No one can save you now. Not even us."

A cold realization washed over Leonard. He remembered the kid in the hoodie he'd seen once or twice at the Manor. He remembered the "Sound" on the recording.

"Answer me one thing, Silas," Leonard whispered, his hand trembling. "Is this... is this all PK's doing? The student? The boy?"

The silence on the other end was deafening. Silas didn't say yes. He didn't say no. He simply let the silence confirm the nightmare.

Click.

The line went dead.

Leonard slumped into his chair. He looked at the window, seeing his reflection in the glass. He realized that while he was busy playing "business," the boy in the cafeteria was playing "god."

The price of silence had been thirty crores. The price of defiance was his entire life.
