Chapter 256 - Remind

The situation was reversed once again. This time, it was Emrys' turn to take the initiative and attack. Moreover, he had to hold Perdita before the Imperium of Man reinforcements arrived and absolutely prevent the Tyranids from discovering the Warp Gate!

Emrys was very clear about how grim this mission was, and he anticipated that there might be heavy casualties.

But this was his home universe.

He had to defend it, otherwise—once the Warp Gate created by the Old Ones was destroyed by the Tyranids, the Imperium of Man would be completely overthrown!

The two quickly left the area and returned to the surface. Under the glow of countless stars, Emrys and Winnie sat on a flat rock.

"You—you're not leaving this time?"

Emrys looked at Winnie with a hint of curiosity.

"Not for now." A gentle warmth appeared in Winnie's light golden eyes as she looked at him and said, "If I leave, who will protect you?"

"Heh, I must be quite important." Emrys chuckled, teasing, "Even a Living Saint is personally protecting me, treated like a Primarch. If people knew about this, they'd probably think I'm the Emperor's biological son!"

Winnie smiled slightly, then changed the subject.

"How do you plan to defend this place?"

"How else can I defend it?" Emrys sighed helplessly, saying, "Dig deep fortifications, build trenches, and fight a positional war with the Tyranids."

As things stood, he indeed had no better solution. This was different from all the situations Emrys had faced before; there was no room for clever tricks, only a head-on clash!

In a true war, only positional warfare is the touchstone that tests a military's combat power and will; there is no possibility of cleverness!

If they couldn't hold out, or if casualties were too heavy, leading to a collapse of morale, then the outcome awaiting them would be to lose this war completely.

He already had a premonition that the upcoming war would be a test and extremely brutal!

"They're here."

Suddenly, Winnie stood up, the gentleness in her eyes vanishing, replaced by sharpness. She gripped her golden sword, radiating killing intent.

Following her gaze, Emrys saw a few scattered Tyranid Warrior bugs, likely acting as "Scouts."

The moment they spotted Emrys, those Tyranid Warrior bugs immediately roared and charged at him!

Just as Emrys was about to kill these Warrior bugs, he saw Winnie beside him flash forward with her sword, like a golden streak of light passing before his eyes!

Swish swish!

He didn't even see what happened clearly; he just felt a blur, and those Tyranid Warrior bugs that had charged were already cut in half!

Winnie flicked the blood from her blade, her golden hair fluttering in the wind, giving Emrys a spirited profile.

Too awesome! Emrys was dumbfounded. How did this woman seem even more formidable than the last time they met?

Her combat power, no exaggeration, if Winnie were thrown into Marvel, she'd at least be considered a hero. She could single-handedly take down the Avengers, except for Thor, in minutes!

And she was just a Living Saint. He couldn't even imagine how powerful a Primarch would be.

"This place has been discovered by the Tyranids. Should we move?" Winnie seemed not to notice Emrys' Superman-like gaze as she asked faintly.

"It's too late."

Emrys shook his head.

To use an inappropriate analogy, Tyranid are like cockroaches in a house. When you find one or two, it means there are already dozens, hundreds of cockroaches in the dark, damp corners.

the Tyranids are exactly like that. Based on his experience escaping these past few days, Emrys was certain that this place would soon be surrounded by the Tyranids!

And indeed, it was just as he predicted!

In less than half a minute, as far as their eyes could see, vast numbers of Tyranids were visible, like an overwhelming ocean, engulfing mountains and ravines, the sound of their carapaces rubbing reverberating through the sky!

"Don't leave my side."

Winnie drew her blade, and a radiant glow emanated from her back, like golden wings, full of sanctity, majesty, and an inviolable aura.

"I originally wanted to ask you what happened during this time, but it seems there's no time now." Emrys took a deep breath, a faint light appearing in his eyes.

"Let's start here. Don't blink next."

"Why?"

Winnie tilted her head, her cool demeanor giving her a somewhat cute and innocent look.

"Because it's going to be awesome!"

Emrys returned a smile, then walked towards the Tyranids, clenching his five fingers into a fist.

"Traveler, summon the army!"

The next moment, behind Emrys, like brilliant starlight being pulled down and falling.

Figures appeared one after another amidst dazzling lights, quickly filling the plain. Those mighty figures simultaneously erupted in earth-shattering roars!

Optimus Prime, wielding his Sword of Leadership, pointed it at the sky, his roar echoing through the heavens.

"Autobots, charge!"

"Decepticons, charge!!!" Megatron, unwilling to be outdone, led his Decepticons aerial division, their wings tearing through the clouds, issuing his command amidst the sound of breaking air.

"Crush them!!!"

Amidst shrieks, countless steel cannonballs rained down like a torrent, causing immense casualties to the densely packed Tyranid in the massive explosions and smoke!

Before the Tyranids could catch their breath, they saw giant mechanical Iron Men figures, like knights, charging into them with extremely brutal force.

What awaited the Tyranids next was an overwhelming crush!

Even a Hive Tyrant could barely withstand a single sword strike from Optimus Prime. That guy was practically berserk, pure brute force, slaughtering his way through the Tyranids, covered in blood from head to toe!

Soon, the first wave of Tyranid assault was easily repelled!

But Emrys knew very well that this was just an appetizer; the real war hadn't even begun!

At the same time, this scene made the vast shadow of the Warp, the will of the Great Devourer, almost laugh out loud.

Was it afraid of Emrys?

No, it was afraid that Emrys would hide like a coward, dodging and not daring to face it head-on!

Although the Hive Mind didn't understand what prompted Emrys to change his mind and suddenly come out to confront the Tyranids directly, it was very pleased!

It could finally let out a breath!

And so, the Hive Fleet received the Hive Mind's command and began to reproduce like mad. Bio-spore drop pods, like a rainstorm, tore through the dim sky and were deployed to Perdita!

On the other side, the Blood Angels fleet, in stealth mode, also noticed this scene.

Did the Tyranid fleet suddenly increasing its forces mean that the opportunity they had been waiting for had arrived?

Several Chapter Masters of the Blood Angels successor Chapters, who had long been "Thirsty" and eager to charge and slay the Tyranids, looked towards the Lord of Blood, their eyes full of longing.

However, under their eager, fervent gaze, the Lord of Blood remained expressionless, shaking his head gently.

Dante knew very well that now was not the optimal moment. They had to wait until the Hive Mind relaxed its vigilance and showed a weakness, then strike a fatal blow!

There was only one chance!

They had to seize it and absolutely not act rashly!

Dante appeared calm, but Mephiston noticed that the Chapter master's right fist remained clenched, clearly indicating that his emotions were not as calm as they appeared on the surface.
