Against this new skin, the flames could no longer cause any damage. He had completely adapted to them.
Is this the so-called adaptation...?
After sensing it briefly, King found that he felt closer to the fire now. In the endless sea of flames, he felt as comfortable as swimming in a pool, moving freely.
The fire that previously felt slightly scorching now felt like a warm bath, soaking him comfortably from all sides.
