He turned his eyes toward the gate and toward her, even though he couldn't see her clearly.
"Oh, what are you doing here, my ladies?" he called in a calm, almost amused voice.
Dyana opened her mouth to answer, but no sound came out. She frowned, narrowed her eyes. He wasn't speaking to her.
In front of the gate, three young girls stood near a convertible parked across the road, lights off. They wore light clothing: short skirts, tight tops.
"Huh?" Dyana whispered, instinctively retreating farther into the darkness.
Kaiser approached them unhurriedly, hands in his pockets.
"Good evening, girls. Are you lost or is this an official visit?"
The tallest of the three, with blond hair cut into a bob, stepped forward with a dazzling smile.
"Lord Kaiser! We were passing by and… we thought we could invite you. Small party at Livia's, nothing crazy, just music, drinks, and cool people."
Kaiser raised an eyebrow.
