Calia, following behind, found this quite amusing. She suppressed her laughter, not wanting to be rude, especially to this little goblin. This outing was truly fun, much more so than her life in the castle. The most important thing was being with her beloved brother.
"Do you know who I am?" Arthas said playfully as he looked at the goblin before him, suddenly struck by an idea: to recruit a female goblin to handle his finances.
Goblins are a short-statured race, about the same height as dwarves and gnomes, but they are cunning and smart, harboring an unusual fanaticism for money. An old saying could describe the goblin's greed: as long as you pay enough, they will do anything for you, even sell their wife or mother!
The greed of goblins knows no bounds; most goblins take pride in earning gold coins. Arthas had seen goblins before, and now, in Lordaeron, these races were not permitted to engage in commerce, so goblins could not do business with him. These greedy goblins even collaborated with orcs, helping them build warships, showing no concern for whether these savage orcs would destroy the world. That is the nature of goblins—they crave money above all.
"You? You seem a bit special, um, sorry, I don't know who you are. So, noble knight, tell me your name!" The female goblin curiously sized up Arthas; this presence is not something ordinary people possess, only the great nobility of humanity can cultivate such an aura.
Furthermore, unlike those noble pretenders who are hardly better than beasts, this human exuded a credible charm. Even the dormant power of the Titans was visibly influential. Arthas released her from her cage, saying, "Come on, let's talk over there."
The female goblin curiously followed him. Outside, the worgen began to clear the bodies and efficiently transport supplies back. Everything was different from before; the bloody savagery contrasted sharply with civilization, making it feel as if she had stepped into the wrong place. "What is this? Oh, gold coins above, are these the gnolls?"
Ignoring her, Arthas walked to a nearby fire, pulled out some supplies for simple cooking, and prepared a small pot of coffee, the aroma wafting as the liquid boiled. He poured a cup for the female goblin and sat down on a stone, saying,
"I am Arthas, the prince of Lordaeron. It's safe here; this gnoll clan has been conquered by me."
Omiya Rensha took a sip of the coffee, her eyes lighting up. Goblins are known for their stinginess; they practice extreme frugality in their food and clothing, even reluctant to spend money, squeezing their trading partners for every last copper coin.
"Oh, this is a delicious beverage! Are you planning to develop the market with me? Your Highness, give me the recipe for this drink; I can buy it out for five hundred gold coins!" Truly a typical goblin, she couldn't stop talking about gold coins.
"Sure, I have many more recipes and inventions that can be used to make money. Before we proceed, I need to know your position in the Rensha Consortium," Arthas said as he sipped his coffee, especially sweet with the addition of licorice.
"Don't try to deceive me; the Ashvane Trading Company is my aunt's, and she's aware of the movements of other consortia." Omiyaya's eyes suddenly sparkled with fervor—not from being mesmerized by Arthas, but from a desire to break free from her fate.
"You are a prince, so you must be wealthy, right?"
"No, I have no money," Arthas dismissed, "so I need to make money."
"Oh!" Omiya's head drooped but suddenly raised again, her fingers swirling together. "Then we can cooperate!"
"First, answer my question," Arthas frowned. He didn't like being led around.
Sensing Arthas's displeasure, Omiya downed her coffee in one gulp. "My name is Omiya Rensha. I work at the Rensha Consortium. Don't think too much about it; I'm the daughter of the big boss of the Rensha Consortium, a bastard born of a servant, with no inheritance rights. I work at the consortium, and through some connections, I got a ship, bought some goods, and plan to sell them in Lordaeron. I heard you are fighting those tall guys, and I think I can make a fortune."
Then Omiya shrugged her shoulders and made a helpless expression, biting her teeth in anger.
"I was attacked by the naga; my fleet, oh! My gold coins! All gone! I bought all of those with loans, and I'm sure I'll end up being dragged back to the Rensha Consortium as a miner!"
'Ding! Triggering side quest: Commercial Empire I.'
'Side quest: Commercial Empire I: To achieve great ventures, you need substantial funds; what to do without money? Find a way to make it!
Objective: Earn ten thousand gold coins by cooperating with Omiya. Quest reward: Recruit Omiya, unlock the position of Chief Financial Officer of the territory.'
'Chief Financial Officer: Responsible for profit earnings and financial auditing. Has the authority to inquire about any money-related projects. The more capable the individual holding this position, the greater the rewards earned. Please ensure their loyalty first.'
"I can support your new trade and provide goods and ships. But what will I get?" Arthas asked, a playful glint in his eyes.
"Really? Oh my gold coins! You can get gold coins! I only want half of the profits from this trade!" Omiya's eyes sparkled with excitement as she quickly made her demands.
But seeing Arthas's slightly amused expression, she gritted her teeth, "Forty percent!" "Thirty! No lower!"
Omiya gazed at Arthas's indifferent smile, clearly not responding to her. She clutched her head in agony. "Twenty percent, that's the lowest; I have debts to repay!"
"You have two choices: one is fifty percent of the profits, and then everything between us is settled."
After a pause, Arthas looked at the female goblin. "Or the second option is to give up the profits and show me your potential after fulfilling this trade order; you'll have the chance to become my Chief Financial Officer."
