The next morning came quietly. Just like every other morning.
Except that Jamie's inside was raging like a battle field. He feared going outside today, it was as if he would get pounced upon the moment he decided to walk out of the house. But he couldn't do that, he couldn't afford to miss his classes, he didn't want to fail another course.
He stood in front of the bathroom mirror, toothbrush moving mechanically against his teeth, eyes unfocused, it was as if his hands were moving on autopilot. The events of the previous night replayed in flashes, from waking up in the morning with Jett in his bed, to leaving the same Jett in the parking lot and walking home, drowning in his own misery.
Then Bianca's scenerio and that suspicious person who looked a lot like Jett.
He rinsed his mouth.
"It's fine," he muttered to his reflection. "Just go to school and act normal."
He pulled on his hoodie, grabbed his bag, and headed downstairs.
