The room was filled with darkness. A 40 year old man, Suresh, slept with his wife, and two sons, aged ten and eight. The ring sound of bell wake up both Suresh and his wife.
Suresh groggily, "Who's at the gate".
"Yaa, I am checking" Wife got out of bed and went to open the gate
A scream sound shattered the silence. Suresh rushed out followed by children and saw his wife lying on the ground, her face pale and her eyes wide with fear. He followed her gaze towards the gate and got freezed with fear. The children screamed and clung to him. Wife also stand up and ran towards his husband. There is a old women standing on the gate, draped in a pale ash-grey saree, its fabric seeming to have formed from the ashes themselves. She was confused and see the man without blinking here eyes which is filled with tears.
"Mom? No! she died 1 month ago. Who are you?", Man who don't know how to react
"My son! It's me. (She start cry) I am your mother. I don't know what is happening but I am alive!"
The old women took a step forward. The man got panic and rushed towards the old lady and give her push and close the door while saying, "You are not my mom. She died. Now go from here otherwise I am calling the police"
The old women fall on the ground. She stand again and try to ran towards the door which is closed now. She sit outside and crying, "I am your mother".
All the family members were in the room who were fearful.
"What was that? Is she really your mo…. No she died!" Wife
Husband doesn't say anything. He was not in his consciousness. He was confused and fear. The phone rang.
Ramesh -his childhood friend.
"Hey! Suresh did you have see the news."
"News? What happens?"
"You didn't have still any idea? See the news now? It's something if I will say you do not believe.
"Please! Stop kidding me. I am already in problem." Suresh was frustrated
"What happens?" Ramesh is concerned.
Suresh explain everything what happens just now.
"I know! You may not believe but she can be your mother."
"What you mean?" Suresh stand with exited and confused
"See the news now."
Suresh hung up the phone and turned to his wife. "I have to watch the news, now".
Wife: (confuse) Okay.
They turned on the TV and tuned to the news channel. The anchor was reporting on a strange phenomenon that was happening all over the world: "dead people were coming back to life."
"Scientists are baffled," the anchor said. "They don't know how or why it's happening, but they're warning people to be careful. If you see someone who you think is deceased, it's best to contact the authorities."
Suresh and his wife looked at each other in shock. They turned off the TV and sat down in silence, their minds racing.
"What it's mean? Is your mother really alive?" Wife
Suresh was in his thought
"I don't know. But I'm going to find out." Suresh finally said.
He stood up and unlock the main gate. The old woman was still sitting on the ground outside, crying.
"Moommm" Suresh was hesitate "Is it really you?"
The old woman looks up at him. Suresh can recognize the love in her eyes.
"My son. It's me."
Suresh helping her to get on her feet. He led her into the house and closed the door behind them while insuring no one was seeing them.
"I don't know how you came back," his voice was breaking and he can't stop his tear. "But I'm so glad you're here."
The old woman smiled. "I'm glad to be home," she said.
