Chapter 3
After the meet up they went to a restaurant. At the restaurant goes dead silent. The steam from the ramyeon rises between them like a mist.
Serina: (Frozen, her hand still on the table from the bang) "...What did you just say?"
Allen: (Wiping his mouth with a napkin, looking totally bored) "You heard me. The 'Great Creators' your families pray to? You're looking at them. Now, are you going to finish those tteokbokki, or can I have the rest?"
Evelyn: (Her voice trembling) "You... you're Arsen? The Alpha? And Alex is... Aziel?"
Alex: (Winking again, but this time his eyes glow with a faint, abyssal purple) "In the flesh, ladies. Though I prefer 'Alex'—it makes me feel younger. Arsen over there is just a grumpy old man in a teenager's body."
The girls started laughing thinking their cousins have hit their head somewhere,Then Alex snaps his finger which teleported them to space.
The girls' laughter dies in their throats. The atmosphere is gone and they were shocked that they were in space and a realised they should be suffocating, but Alex has clearly created a small "bubble" of reality around them which protected them.
Alex: (Floating cross-legged in the void, leaning his head on his hand with that signature smirk) "Am I still just a 'dumb student' who fails math, Serina? Or does the view from 300 miles up change your perspective?"
Evelyn: (Her face going completely pale as she looks at the moon) "A-Allen... you... this isn't an illusion. This is real space..."
Allen: (Floating as if he's lying on a couch, looking totally bored) "Alex, you're such a show-off. Why space? It's cold, it's empty, and I still haven't finished my tea. Just take us home already."
!!Snap!!
In a blink, the stars vanish. The girls feel the soft carpet of a living room beneath their feet. The smell of the restaurant is replaced by the scent of Alex's house.
The Aftermath in the Living Room
The girls are likely trembling, their legs giving out as they realize the "idiot cousins" they grew up with are actually the entities their families worship as holy icons.
Serina: (Whispering, clutching the edge of a sofa) "You... you really are the Primordials. Aziel and Arsen..."
Alex: "Bingo! But honestly, 'Alex' sounds much more approachable for a high schooler, don't you think?"
Allen: (Already walking toward the kitchen to find a glass of water) "Look, we've shown you. Now, don't make a big deal out of it. We just want to live our lives. If you tell the Family Heads, it'll just be a giant headache for us."
The morning air at Aegis Hunter Academy was thick with tension. As Alex, Allen, and Serina walked through the front gates, the usual morning chatter died instantly.
Students scrambled to clear a path. The school bully, a hulking Level 1 Hunter named Jax who used to find joy in "accidentally" tripping the "dumb" Allen in the hallway, was currently pressed against a locker, trembling. He didn't even dare to make eye contact as Allen walked by, looking as bored as a person waiting for a bus.
Alex: (Noticing the fear, he leans toward Allen with a grin) "Hey Allen, look at Jax. I think he just realized that 'dumb' guy he bullied might actually be a monster. Should I wave? I should definitely wave."
Allen: (Staring straight ahead, hands in pockets) "Don't bother. It's a waste of energy. Just get to class so I can sleep through history."
The Jealousy in the Halls
As they reached the classroom, the atmosphere shifted from fear to bitter jealousy among the male students. Serina and Evelyn were the "Goddesses" of the school—top-tier hunters and incredibly beautiful. Seeing them walking so closely with the "slacker cousins" was more than some could take.
Random Student A: (Whispering harshly) "Look at them... Alex and Allen are so lucky. They're basically attached to Serina and Evelyn's hip now."
Random Student B: "I don't get it! Those two idiots have no idea how lucky they are to be in the presence of the Rosendel and Leonhart heirs. Life is so unfair."
Alex: (Overhearing them, he smirks and whispers to Serina) "If only they knew that the 'heirs' were currently terrified of the 'idiots,' right?"
Serina: (Blushing in frustration, she nudges Alex with her elbow) "Shut up, Alex. My heart still hasn't slowed down since you took us to space!"
The Office Confrontation
Suddenly, the speakers crackled to life, the sound echoing through the hallways.
"Alex and Serina Rosendel... Allen and Evelyn Leonhart. Please report to the Principal's Office immediately. I repeat, ASAP!"
The four of them shared a look. Evelyn, who had been quiet the whole morning, gripped her bag tight. "This is it. David couldn't keep the Association away forever."
When they entered the office, the air was cold. Principal David wasn't alone. Standing by the window were two figures in traditional, high-collared robes—the Chancellors of the Rosendel and Leonhart Families.
Evelyn's Chancellor: (A stern man with glowing eyes) "Evelyn... Allen. Care to explain why the Association's satellite picked up a massive surge of Primordial Light and Darkness... in the upper atmosphere last night?"
Alex: (Casual as ever, leaning against the doorframe) "Oh, that? We just went for a quick bit of fresh air. The cafe was a bit stuffy, don't you think?"
Serina's Chancellor: (Ignoring Alex, looking at Serina) "Serina, report. Who were the unauthorized hunters who interfered with the Level 5 demon? We have reports of a man who 'cut space' with his bare hands."
Serina: (She looks at Alex, then at the floor, her voice steadying) "It wasn't an unauthorized hunter, Chancellor. It was..."
Allen: (Interrupting with a cold, sharp tone that makes the Chancellors flinch) "It was a family matter. And if I were you, I'd stop asking questions that your ancestors didn't even have the right to ask."
The room went dead silent. The Chancellors looked outraged, but for some reason, they couldn't move. A heavy, golden pressure was radiating from Allen, while a bottomless shadow seemed to creep from Alex's feet.
