Chapter 2
The Setting: The principal's office, three hours after the demon's destruction. The air is still heavy with the scent of ozone and burnt shadows.
The Dialogue:
David leaned against his desk, crossing his arms. "I've stalled the Association's report for now, Serina. But I need answers. How can two 'normal' relatives suddenly use high-tier primordial energy?"
Just then, the door swung open. Evelyn stood there, her wolf cut slightly messy from the chaos, her eyes burning with intensity.
"Serina!! We need to talk!"
David and Serina both jumped. Serina sighed, looking at her bandaged hands. "I know what you're about to say, Evelyn. Allen used the Leonhart light chains, and Alex... he used the Rosendel 'End' energy. But we're the ones who were supposed to inherit the full power. How are they doing it better than us?"
Evelyn walked closer, her voice a sharp whisper. "It's not just that they used the power, Serina. They didn't even look like they were trying. Allen was... levitating. That's a level of light manipulation I haven't even read about in our family archives!"
The Realization:
Serina looked out the window, remembering Alex's smirk and that chilling question about the contract. "Alex asked me if I was the one he made a contract with. Evelyn... what if we aren't the 'chosen ones'? What if we're just the students, and they're the masters?"
Scene: The Convenience Store Confrontation
The sun was setting, casting long, dramatic shadows—Alex's shadows—across the pavement.
Alex: (Crunching on a bag of chips) "Oh, Allen... did you erase their memories? You know, the whole 'levitating and light-chaining' thing might be a bit much for the commoners."
Allen: (Staring boredly at a bottle of milk tea) "Let's not erase them this time. I'm tired of cleaning up. Let's see how the world runs and how they judge the 'Hunters' when they realize they aren't the strongest ones in the room."
They reached the street corner where they usually part ways.
"WAIT! BOTH OF YOU!"
The two gods turned. Serina and Evelyn were sprinting toward them, out of breath, looking like they had just chased down a runaway car.
Allen: (Not even blinking) "What are you guys doing here? The store is out of the limited edition bread, if that's what you want."
Alex: (Winking at Serina with that signature smirk) "Hey, Serina! Since I 'saved your ass' back there, you're willing to give me your homework as a reward, right? My math grade is crying."
Serina: (Face turning red from anger and confusion) "HOMEWORK?! Alex, you literally dissolved a Level 5 demon with your bare hands! Who cares about math?!"
Evelyn: (Stepping up to Allen, her wolf cut messy) "Allen Leonhart, stop acting dumb. We saw you in the air. We saw the chains. Don't you dare walk away without explaining how a 'lazy cousin' is stronger than the Family Head!"
