When I woke up on the second day of training, I was surprised to actually look forward to the days training. I was learning how to make large objects out of my fire and solidify them like I did with the glass orb. Of course, I can't breathe on an entire house. Yes, if you're wondering. I made a house.
The trick was to use my life energy, which we now call my spirit energy, to touch the object and signal that it is my order to solidify.
Throughout the day, I practiced everything I learned since I would leave soon.
It was easier than I thought. Dayla made it sound very difficult.
"You need to be very careful." She said. "You can start fires very easily without enough control."
"I know." I snapped back. "Let me focus then."
When I made a pillow that was acually comfortable and eternally warm, I was ecstatic. It would bend and squish just like any normal pillow, except it was bright red and had an imprint of a campfire on it.
"That is the crest of the fire goddess." Dayla had explained. "It's to show that it's an original piece of yours or that it belongs to you."
"Wow." I said, trying not to totally lose it with excitement. "That's nice."
"Yes. It can also be used to alert an enemy that you are approaching and want a war." She continued.
"Oh." I said, the excitement drained from me. "That's depressing."
We walked back to my room so I could take a break. "What are we going to do with the house?" I asked Dayla as she flew through the waterfall.
She turned and replied, "That's up to you, Lady Alyssa. You must decide what to do with it, as it is your creation."
I thought for a moment, then looked at it through the waterfall. It looked like an ordinary house, but painted bright red, that wouldn't come off.
"I don't know. Nobody would want to live in that. So I shouldn't donate it. It won't seel for much, because it's kinda hideous, so I shouldn't sell it, but maybe you could teach me how to unsilidify things?"
"Oh yes! That's a wonderful idea! We will use it to train you! Come with me!" She flew toward the house, and I yelled after her.
"Right now? I just sat down!" I grunted and pulled my aching body out of bed and slumped toward the house. When I reached it, Dayla continued.
"All you must do is touch it and wish it out of existence." She directed.
I touched it, and it was still warm, which was cool. "Why's it still warm?"
"Nothing you create will ever become cold unless you die." She explained. "It will cool down a little if you get hurt, just enough to notice, but not extremely."
"Oh."
I closed my eyes and made a wish. I wish this house out of existence. When I opened my eyes, it was gone, and my body was buzzing with thrill.
"You can also change pre-made objects into others. For example, in a war, you could use a bow and arrow you create, and once it hits the target, manipulate it into becoming a bomb. For that, you only need to keep your eyes on the object created and wisper out loud what you want it to become."
I held out my hand and let fire slither into my palm, I closed my hands around it and pulled until it became a fire colored spear with blue flame locking the handle. I solidified it and prepared to change it when I heard a scream.
It was Gavin, finally here for me.
I ran into the main cavern to see him surrounded by pheonixes. They were everywhere, preparing to attack.
I closed my eyes and commanded them to stop, and when I opened my eyes again, they were all frozen in place. Then, suddenly, they all flew at me, and I screamed. Gavin let out a terrified beg for them not to hurt me, as they landed at my feet and bowed.
"Begone." I said, and all but one left. Dayla. "I'm sorry, but you two. I must leave now."
"But goddess, he wasn't supposed to come until tomorrow." She replied, anxious.
"Didn't I learn everything I was supposed to in here?" I asked.
"Yes, but -"
"Then I'm leaving."
"Yes, ma'am. I will give him the gift of hearing, if you wish. So he may understand us as well."
"Yes, please."
As Dayla flew over to a terrified Gavin, he looked at me and started crying.
"I missed you so much! I was so scared and I was confused and I still am, but are you okay?" He asked frantically. "I'll eat these birds if you aren't!"
I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes, slowly transforming into my old body, with only a sliver of red in my hair, and the scar the Pheonix gave me, as proof of my being.
He gasped, covering his mouth, then sobbed harder. "You're alive! And you're you! Babe, I love you! Don't you ever disappear into birds like that again! Or take me with you next time!"
Dayla flew in front of him and stared into his eyes. He kept looking away, awkward at the fierceness in her eyes.
"Lady Alyssa." She squawked at me. "Tell him to stop being annoying. He can't hear me until he looks at me."
I laughed and said, "Gav, babe, she wants you to look at her. She's gonna let you hear her."
He looked into her eyes, obviously still nervous, but now for a different reason. I'd never called him babe so casually before.
"He should be able to hear me now." Dayla said, after a few moments.
Gavin looked confused and said, "Your voice is nicer than I'd thought. You said angry as a bird."
"Gavin!" I scolded with a small smile. "Don't be rude!"
Dayla huffed and left the room, only turning to say to me, "We are here in every case, good and bad, binded forever. Call when you need us." Then said softer, "Or want us."
I laughed and said, "Will do." Then asked her if she would want to bring us back.
Her eyes lit up like Christmas morning, and she emidiantly came to me, grabbing Gavin my arms as I released my wings and we flew into the sunset.
