Cherreads

Chapter 9 - Ch. 9. After Effects - mini chapter.

The next morning, I woke up sore and embarrassed. He didn't just see my body, but he touched it and went inside it! I thought I would die from the adrenaline or the pounding in my chest, or in my body, or all of it. He was trying to be gentle, but damn that thing is big.

I groaned as I turned, trying to relieve the pain. I failed, but Gavin shot up, completely awake. I stiffened, and he side glanced me, blushing.

"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, turned and resting his hand on my hip.

"Mhmm." I said, trying to sit up. "Fine." He looked like he didn't know what to do, as he started apologizing. I gasped, as a sudden ache came from a place it shouldn't have.

Gavin jumped up and started frantically looking around, trying to find something that might help, then stopped, embarrassed as a thought rose to his mind.

"What?" I asked. "You just thought of something. What is it?"

"Nothing!" He yelled, a little too quickly. "Nothing..."

"That means it's something. What is it?"

"No. No. It's just that I remembered too much last night. It was nice. Good. I mean!" He stammered, then paused and continued, defeated. "Yeah. It was amazing." I reddened as I remembered the noises my own throat produced.

"Let's go get some breakfast!" I said eagerly, then gasped again as I moved too quickly.

Gavin grabbed my hand and helped me to my feet. We walked slowly down the hall into a huge room where a breakfast buffet was being held. I was waiting in line, seeing whether I should have pancakes or waffles when a woman came up behind me.

"You should choose pancakes. They're delicious here." She remarked without introduction.

"Okay, but what kind? They have so many options." I replied.

"The blueberry are my favorite." She said with a smirk. "I'm Cristan, your neighbor in the sweet next door. I'm here with my husband, Carlos. We heard you last night. Seams like you had quiet a wild night. First time?" She asked.

I blushed and wispered, "How'd you know?"

"Oh, deary, a woman of my age always knows. It depends on how loud you are and how deep you are. I always ask myself, Is it an ice cream scooper or a Frisbee? If it's an ice cream scooper, you know you're enjoying it!"

I grabbed my blueberry pancakes and practically ran (or limped) back to our table.

"How was the line?" Gavin asked me as I sat down.

"We should've ordered room service." I replied, not meeting his eyes.

Over the next few days, we were awkward and lovely at the same time. We wouldn't meet our eyes, but we wouldn't leave each other's side either. He held me a little closer, but a bit more gently, like he would break me. At night, I'd grab his arm a little tighter as he held me, and I could feel his breath on my cheek, but we wouldn't make eyecontact.

We also barely left our room. We were silent due to awkwardness, but the air around us felt deeper and warmer. I couldn't think of him without having a yearning to hold him and be with him.

We were talking about the waterside on the cruise, when suddenly, I noticed a horrible smell coming from behind the couch. I looked, and It was a pyrolisk. The enemy of pheonixes.

It had sharp claws and talons running down its back and a long heavy tail. It was pyrolisk. It smelled like a dead body, but it looked like a crazy dragon deer monster.

It pounced, and Gavin covered me with his body, pinning me to the corner wall.
