Keifers pov:
I've been so busy with work lately that I barely have time to spend with Jay. I try my best, but it never feels like enough. I already miss so many moments—especially the time I was in London.
Keifer's phone buzzed.
I saw the name and smiled. "Honey," I said, picking up.
"Hey, Keifer. Are you busy right now?" her voice was calm, but I could tell she had something important to say.
"No, why?" I asked
"Nothing much. I just wanted to remind you about something."
"About what?"
"You knew you'd forget," she teased.
"The grand party held by Aurelian Corp. You have to attend."
I frowned. "Oh… right. When is it?
"February 10.
My heart skipped a beat.
February 10. That's… Jay-Jay's birthday. I can't miss it.
"I don't think that's possible," I said, shaking my head.
"Why not?" she asked, confused.
"Jay's birthday is on the exact same day. I've already lost too much time with her… I can't miss it," I admitted, my voice low.
There was a pause on the other end.
"Keifer,Watson is struggling," she said finally. "After Hanamitchi backed out, we lost a huge investment. We need Aurelian's support. It's the only way to fix this. I know how important her birthday is, but the company comes first. You have your brothers to think about… Jay's future depends on this."
I ran a hand over my face. "I get it. But I… I can't just ignore her birthday. I've already missed too much. I can't lose her time again."
"Keifer," she said firmly, "you still have to attend this party. No excuses. It's non-negotiable."
Click.
I stared at the phone, heart pounding. Oh man… what do I do now?
