Jay-Jay's POV
On call with Judy
"Bae, your birthday is coming," Judy said excitedly. "And it's on the exact date of your identity reveal. You literally hit the jackpot."
"Yeah, but that's not exactly a good thing," I sighed. "My friends don't know about the company. How will they react? And more importantly… what will Keifer think?"
"You haven't told him yet?" she asked, clearly shocked, but her tone was teasing. "What kind of girlfriend are you?
"No," I said, smiling to myself. "I didn't tell him. I'm planning to surprise him." 🤭
Judy gasped. "Man, that's sick. He's going to be in total shock."
"I know," I laughed. "I want to see his reaction so badly."
Next day morning
Today, I went to school with Aries. Keifer said he couldn't pick me up because he had to be at Keigan's school, and honestly, I was fine with that.
After Aries and I had breakfast, we went to the garage. I was about to sit in the front seat when Aries stopped me.
"I'm picking up Ella," he said. "She'll sit in the front."
Whatever. 🙄 This love-sick boy.
We picked Ella up, and the moment she got into the car, she went, "Hey, Aries babyyy, good morning~"
Ew. Doesn't she know how to say good morning like a normal person?
They immediately started kissing. I coughed loudly, and only then did Ella notice I was there.
"Oh! Good morning, Jay," she said, smiling at me..
That smile made me uncomfortable, but I didn't say anything. "Good morning," I replied.
At the gas station
Aries went to fill the gas, leaving just me and Ella in the car.
"So, Jay," she started, "how are you? How are things between you and Keif?"
Keif?
Who does she think she is, calling my Keifer Keif?
"Yeah, we're good," I said calmly. "He's such a sweet man. He takes care of me very well," I added proudly.
She smiled. "Yeah, I know. When he's in love, he's really a cutie. When we were together, he took care of me like I was made of glass." 😏
There was a small smirk on her face.
"Oh," I replied, pretending not to care.
"Has he mentioned me lately?" she asked casually.
What does she mean by that?
Do they still keep in touch?
Before I could say anything, Aries came back. Thank God. I had no idea what I was supposed to say. But Ella's words stayed in my mind.
I didn't even realize we had reached school.
"Jayyy?" Aries called.
"Yeah?"
"Get out. We're already here."
I stepped out of the car and walked toward my classroom. The moment I entered, I saw Keifer sitting next to my seat. His face lit up as soon as he saw me.
During class, it was the usual chaos and teasing.
But something felt off.
Keifer wasn't himself. He kept zoning out, like his mind was somewhere else entirely. What was he thinking? Why was he acting so weird?
And Ella's words from the morning… they wouldn't leave my head.
What did she mean by that?
Why does everything suddenly feel so strange?
