"Who needs a cloak anyway? I don't care about it."
Fini thought silently to himself as he practiced various strange poses in mid-air—lying on his side, sitting cross-legged—deliberately choosing to forget the time he stood in front of the Cloak of Levitation for an entire day, chatting with it in hopes of gaining its recognition.
He had previously worried about what would happen if the Iron Monger tried to flee, but now, with Sky Dance and the Sling Ring portals, he didn't believe the Iron Monger could actually be that heaven-defying.
Now that success in battle was guaranteed, the question was when to start it. At this moment, Tony probably hadn't even begun truly manufacturing the Mark II.
The Iron Monger was in an even worse state; those terrorists had likely just finished digging the wreckage of the Mark I out of the sand and were wracking their brains to piece it back together.
With so much time left to prepare, Fini was in no rush. He needed to focus on mastering Sky Dance first before considering anything else.
As long as he was powerful enough, he would have a solution no matter what the enemy did.
After floating around the room for a while longer, Fini finally prepared to rest. Already exhausted, he quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Early the next morning, Fini—who didn't have classes until the afternoon—was in high spirits as he prepared to go practice Sky Dance. However, he was stopped by Skye before he could even get out the door.
"What are you up to?"
Skye stood at the door, her brow furrowed in interrogation. Seeing Fini's movements becoming erratic again, her suspicious nature made her worry about another accident, so she intended to get the full story.
"Uh, nothing much. Just normal training."
Seeing Skye's skeptical look, Fini couldn't help but roll his eyes. He thought for a moment, then suddenly spoke with a mischievous grin: "Want to come along?"
Skye didn't notice Fini's expression; she just shook her head somewhat dejectedly and replied, "Forget it. I can't learn it anyway. Just be careful and don't break your body again."
Seeing Skye like this, Fini tucked away his smirk. Feeling a pang of sympathy, he patted her head and comforted her: "It's no big deal if you can't learn it. Didn't I tell you? You'll have other abilities; it's just that the time hasn't come yet."
"Let's go. Come with me today; I'll show you something."
Without waiting for Skye to refuse, he grabbed her hand and opened a portal.
"Portal!"
Following his recent breakthrough, Fini could finally use the portal in his normal state, though he still needed a bit of assistance from a command through Ars Magna.
Watching the surroundings change instantly, Skye was stunned for a long time before snapping back to reality and saying helplessly, "I still have a lot of work to do!"
"It doesn't matter. Take a break first!"
Fini replied with a laugh, then suddenly asked, "By the way, are you afraid of heights?"
"What?"
Skye didn't have time to react, but in the next second, she understood the meaning of the question. She stared in shock at Fini, who was floating in the moonlight.
"You can fly?"
"Want to go up and see?"
Fini flew over to Skye and asked with a smile.
Few people can resist the temptation of flight, and Skye was clearly not one of them.
This kind of flight, so different from sitting in an airplane, made her heart throb. Moreover, she knew Fini wouldn't have said it if he wasn't certain, so she wasn't worried about falling from the sky.
"Come here, I'll carry you!"
Seeing Skye's expression, Fini knew her answer. He landed in front of her and swept her up in a princess carry.
A blush instantly crept onto Skye's delicate face, her large amber eyes darting away. Though they were siblings, they weren't blood-related after all.
Fini didn't think that much. Once he picked her up, he excitedly lifted off the ground. The place he had teleported to was the familiar Mount Everest, though at a lower altitude where it wasn't quite as freezing.
As they ascended, the vast white expanse under the night sky came into view. The beautiful scenery was breathtaking. Skye temporarily forgot her shyness, looking down at the sight with wide eyes.
"So beautiful!"
Skye couldn't help but murmur. The feeling of floating in the air to look at the view was incomparable to being inside a plane.
After flying around the sky with Skye for a while, Fini returned to the ground. Recalling her dejected look from earlier about not being able to learn magic, he thought he might risk trying something.
"When did you learn to fly?"
After landing, Skye was still immersed in the experience, chasing Fini with curious questions.
"I just learned it recently."
Fini framed his breakthrough in the snow as learning Sky Dance, which wasn't technically wrong. Without the experience gained from that breakthrough, he wouldn't have drawn Sky Dance.
"Oh."
Skye nodded in understanding. Though she accepted it, she couldn't help but warn him again: "Training is fine, but you absolutely must not hurt yourself!"
Looking at Skye suddenly acting like an elder, Fini gave an amused reply. Then he asked hesitantly, "Skye, I have something that might let you experience extraordinary power. Do you want to try it?"
"?"
Skye once again showed a curious and confused expression.
"Incursio!"
Fini summoned the sword form of Incursio, held it, and explained: "This sword can adapt to its owner's body and transform into armor. It can greatly enhance the user's physical abilities. Do you want to try?"
The test with the Ancient One had already proven it could be worn by others.
"Can I really?"
Hearing this, Skye asked with a mix of nervousness and excitement. After giving up on magic, she had actually been sad for a long time. Now that she had a chance to experience such an extraordinary ability, how could she not be delighted?
"There shouldn't be a problem with trying."
Fini said thoughtfully. Incursio was his skill, after all; if anything went wrong, he could cancel it at any time. His only concern was that if Skye couldn't equip it, she would be even more disappointed.
"Double Skye's physical fitness!"
Before Skye equipped it, Fini first used Ars Magna to maximize her constitution as much as possible, then let her reach out her fair hand to grasp the sword.
"Incursio!"
Skye gave a soft shout.
Red energy overflowed from the sword, enveloping Skye. The phantom appeared behind her once more. Fini watched this ancient lifeform dwelling within Incursio very carefully.
"Roar!"
A strange, weak hiss erupted from its maw. It seemed somewhat dissatisfied, but eventually, it slowly embraced Skye.
Seeing this, Fini suddenly thought of the Ancient One. If the roar back then was like a dragon's, Skye's now was more like a kitten puffing up its fur.
Fortunately, the equipment was a success. This was the first time Fini had truly let someone else use Incursio. In the end, it was a skill and not a traditional Teigu; otherwise, it shouldn't have been possible for so many people to equip it.
The phantom dissipated, and a fully armored Skye appeared before Fini. But to his shock, Skye's Incursio was drastically different from his own.
"How does it have wings!?"
Aside from a completely different stylistic design, Skye's Incursio actually came with a natural pair of wings!
Does this broken dragon actually have a mind of its own? Is it some kind of perverted dragon!?
