The next day,
Daigo got up, ate breakfast with his mother, and after finishing, stepped outside where the strong sun immediately hit his face.
Today was going to be a busy day for Daigothough surely not just today, but for quite some time.
Arriving at Chiyo's house, he knocked and waited a few seconds.
"Oh, Daigo it looks like you want to start quickly," Chiyo said, letting Daigo in.
"Of course, Grandma Chiyo we have to do things fast so we can move during the war. Do you already have what I asked for?" Daigo asked.
"Yes yesterday I made sure the chakra storage seals were filled so they'd be ready for you. But are you sure about this? You could suffer damage to your chakra pathways," Chiyo said, worried.
"I'll be fine, Grandma Chiyo. I know it's dangerous but without danger, there's no reward. When Suna is in its best state, I can rest," Daigo said, reassuring Chiyo.
"Alright as you say, young man. We have several zones where you can start. Do you want to see them, or do you have one in mind?"
"I don't have a specific zone take me to the ones you have."
So both left not without Daigo first storing the scroll with the seals and began walking.
They went to several places in the village where Daigo could start his grand tunnel project across the Land of Wind though none of them convinced him. In the end, Daigo wasn't satisfied with any.
"Looks like none of them are what you're looking for," Chiyo asked with a smile.
"Yes they're good, but they don't match the image I have of Suna," Daigo said.
"What's your image of Suna, Daigo?"
"My image is to create a village more beautiful than even Konoha finding a way to have a river running through the village, along with trees and much more full of color, making it the treasure of the desert," Daigo said looking toward the village.
"It sounds like one of those books kids read but if you managed to create a new bloodline, maybe you'll achieve that image of a village, in your image where you build the tunnel."
"Hmm… I think I did it near the center of the village. That way merchants, travelers, and tourists can reach everywhere quickly and we'll have better surveillance of who enters and leaves," Daigo said.
"Then what are we waiting for wasting time? Let's go to the place," Chiyo said walking toward the center of the village.
"Eh but are you sure the Kazekage will let us do it there?" Daigo asked quickly knowing they couldn't just do whatever they wanted.
"Don't worry your grandma has many tricks up her sleeve. The Third Kazekage won't say anything," Chiyo said.
So they arrived at the center of the village noticing the place was quite busy since it was where all the village streets connected, making it the most trafficked area in Suna during the day.
Daigo from one of the rooftops looked at the place and nodded. It was perfect.
"Grandma Chiyo I need you to clear the area of all civilians so I can start."
Chiyo only nodded raising her hand as a squad of ANBU appeared behind her.
"Find the team I ordered to create clear the area of civilians," Chiyo said looking at the ANBU.
"Yes, Chiyo-sama," the ANBU said disappearing.
At this, Daigo only nodded surprised by Chiyo, who seemed to pay it no mind.
Minutes later, a squad of around 12 ninjas arrived at the zone making all the civilians start to leave.
Though that made the curious civilians want to know what was happening especially those around the area but knowing it wasn't wise to question a shinobi, they did as told.
With everything ready, Daigo jumped down with Chiyo to the center performing quick seals and touching the ground.
"Earth Release: Kōzō no Shizuku (Earth Release: Structure Drop)," Daigo said closing his eyes and concentrating.
The civilians watching were completely surprised as the sand they had been walking on began to change turning into stone.
Then, right in the center, a fairly large hole began to form creating the entrance to the tunnel.
Daigo opening his eyes and catching his breath could only feel the toll of using the technique in Suna.
This technique Earth Release: Kōzō no Shizuku (Earth Release: Structure Drop) was one he created in the Elephant Valley using seismic sense to manipulate terrain more easily and shape it to his will.
It would be much easier with regular earth though with sand, he first had to compact it to create stone and then shape it a slightly tedious process, but there was no way around it.
Though this technique sounds powerful, it has a major limitation that completely blocks it from being used in combat: you need prior knowledge of the terrain and total concentration you can't move.
This makes it so that if you use it on a battlefield, you become the easiest target to eliminate and Daigo, having more techniques, wouldn't use it.
Walking toward the hole, Daigo looked at Chiyo who approached.
"A very useful technique, Daigo. These people here all know how to use Earth Release so they can help you, though I don't think they're at your level with it."
"Perfect thank you, Grandma. I'll take care of the rest. My name is Daigo I hope you help me with whatever is necessary," Daigo said looking at all of them, who nodded.
That's how the construction of the tunnels began a job that would take time to complete but would help Suna enormously in the future.
With the help of the ninjas, Daigo focused more on using his crystal to reinforce the tunnel walls along with exits outside the sand where air could enter.
Though they were sufficiently hidden so that ninjas without knowledge or those passing by wouldn't notice.
Everything was quite striking the tunnel with pink crystal and illumination seals creating a path that seemed to lead to another world sufficiently large for merchants to pass anything.
And not just them Daigo also had the idea of creating rooms where supplies could be stored for ninjas on missions in case they need something would be easier for them.
But that was still far off everything in its time.
With the Kazekage
As Daigo had told him, he formed a group of 50 ninjas all with strong Wind chakra control to create the new jutsu he had thought of.
The Kazekage was surprised when he read it and thought why hadn't they thought of something like this before? It would help them tremendously.
The technique in question would be called Sunagakure no Jutsu and it was the opposite of the Kirigakure no Jutsu, where they used Water Release to create a very dense mist for assassination.
Sunagakure no Jutsu would create a sand storm that did the same though the difference was in its use: instead of attacking, they would combine it with colorless poisons so any ninja inside the jutsu would unknowingly inhale the poison, rapidly weakening their strength.
Of course, Suna shinobi would have the antidote making the only casualties the enemy ninjas.
Thus creating a new way to attack not just puppets with poisons.
For now, the technique wasn't mastered but they had time, and with the Kazekage's help, the chosen ninjas were starting to grasp the idea and get the hang of creating it.
For the poison, there was no one more perfect to create it than Sasori who accepted. This would help him a lot along with creating antidotes and improving himself.
In the Land of Lightning in the north of the land of shinobi
Things for the Land of Lightning seemed quite good having one of the best shinobi armies, along with a very strong Raikage and jinchūriki.
If it came to data, Kumogakure would be the second strongest village of all. That's why they were among the first to take the field and go straight toward Konoha along with Kiri.
Though things were going perfectly since all their attention was on Konoha they were taking advanced positions and placing new ones in their favor.
Until Suna withdrew from the confrontation against Iwa making Iwa, Kumo's former enemy, now join against Konoha.
Obviously having confidence in beating one village Iwa didn't want competition to defeat Konoha, so they declared war on Kumo.
And it wasn't something simple 5,000 Iwa shinobi entered the Land of Lightning's borders catching Kumo ninjas by surprise.
Facing this large-scale attack, the Raikage who knew his shinobi weren't prepared for that battle stood up and left his office like lightning.
Arriving at the situation where the large number of Iwa shinobi were cleaning up against Kumo's,
The Raikage only thought of the option that would save his village and his shinobi.
Landing in the middle of the battlefield all the shinobi looked toward the figure wrapped in lightning.
"What's the Raikage doing here?" were the words of many Iwa ninjas who hadn't counted on his presence.
For Kumo ninjas these seemed to see a god who arrived to save them especially his son A who had been sent as immediate reinforcement against Iwa's attack.
"Everyone is everything okay? Don't worry I'll take care of the rest. Take the wounded to a safe place," the Raikage said looking at all his shinobi.
"But Father they're many ninjas. If we stay, Killer B and I can help you," A said hoping his father would accept.
"A my son, if something happens to me here, you're the next Raikage. So make sure your shinobi are in good condition and take Kumo to the highest. I'll take care of the Iwa ninjas," the Raikage said.
A along with Killer B nodded knowing their father's character. With his strong personality and protectiveness over his village, he wouldn't let anyone get hurt while he was there.
The Raikage seeing his troops start to retreat along with his son could only smile proudly then change to a serious gaze toward the large army in front of him.
His lightning armor seemed to come to life againappearing and preparing to fight.
"If you want to survive call your Kage. Because I'm not going easy on you."
The Raikage's words thundered across the valley like a warning that the battle was about to begin. The Iwa shinobi though outnumbering any elite unit felt a collective chill.
They weren't facing an ordinary ninja they were facing the man who could fight the Eight-Tails hand-to-hand and the strongest Raikage in history.
"Don't let him intimidate you!" roared a Rock commander from the rear.
"The Tsuchikage-sama is busy crushing Konoha's forces! Our order is clear: take the Land of Lightning while their defense is divided! Attack!"
At the signal, the sky darkened not from clouds, but from thousands of kunai and shuriken infused with explosive tags raining down on the Raikage's solitary position.
"Lightning Release Armor," A whispered.
In a burst of white and blue light, the Raikage disappeared from everyone's sight. The explosions impacted the ground raising columns of earth and smoke but he was no longer there.
A second later, a tearing scream came from Iwa's right flank. The Raikage had crossed five hundred meters in a blink cutting through enemy lines like an incandescent projectile.
With a simple hand motion, the lightning pressure sliced the air sending a dozen ninjas flying like straw dolls.
Meanwhile, on a distant hill, Iwa captains watched with sweaty faces.
"He's a monster…" one murmured.
"Sir the Tsuchikage was emphatic. He said if he couldn't come because he was holding back the Hokage, we must use continuous siege formation. No matter how many fall we must exhaust his chakra and finish him."
"Exhaust the Raikage?" the other replied with a trembling voice.
"Look at that he's not even letting them touch him."
Below, the Raikage was a whirlwind of destruction. Every time Iwa ninjas tried to use Earth Release: Earth Wall to enclose him he simply walked through the stone walls shattering them with the vibration of his electric armor.
His eyes constantly searched for the safety of his ninjas A and Killer B who reluctantly retreated while escorting the wounded toward Kumo's mountains.
"Take Kumo to the top, my son…" the Raikage thought while dodging an earth spear that surged from the ground.
"So you can rule in peace I must become the graveyard of these ninjas."
The Raikage clenched his fist and extended three fingers. The air began to hum with a frequency so high that the ears of nearby ninjas started bleeding.
"Hell Thrust: Three-Finger Nukite," he declared launching himself against the mass of screaming men.
The true carnage had just begun. Iwa didn't know their "numbers" strategy would face the most absurd resistance in shinobi history in a battle that would last days and change how the Third Raikage would be seen.
To others a demon. To Kumo a legend who faced a total of ninjas that an army couldn't defeat.
