For generations, Sunagakure had survived because its shinobi learned that truth before the other villages. Here, there was no luxury of error. Every mistake was paid with blood, every oversight with lives—even sacrifices were necessary for survival.

And Daigo knew that. He had the idea that when he became Kazekage, he would start changing the old customs. Though to his surprise, everything had begun to change overnight.

Where he normally trained with Sasori, Shizuka, and Takumi-sensei, he now found himself training with people he had never seen in the anime—including the new jinchūriki, Arata.

At this, he realized that his advantage of knowing things from the future had started to change, making it impossible to predict what would happen. Though he didn't care much if it was an advantage—he knew that upon arriving in this world, everything would change in time to mold to his movements as well.

The first thing they did, by orders of the Kazekage, was a full year of physical training and fights without chakra. This made most who relied on chakra realize that without it, they would be nothing on a battlefield.

This was where everyone noticed who were the best in hand-to-hand combat—where no one had taken the number 1 spot from Daigo.

Second place was Arata, who was the only one able to give him a bit of a fight. Because even though he didn't use chakra, the One-Tail used its chakra all the time, making Arata—though not using his own—unconsciously use the bijū's.

This was what helped Daigo the most: learning to fight people as strong as him who had killing intent in every strike. Because even though Arata didn't try to kill him, it wasn't the same with the One-Tail.

Though that wasn't all they did. Many stood out in their respective areas—like Sasori with his puppets, Shizuka in ninjutsu and infiltration, and more. He even found another canon character: Baki, the leader of Gaara's team when he was a genin.

Though he was a kid, his talent with ninjutsu and his intelligence made him great potential to reach jōnin rank—thanks to being a very well-rounded ninja in all fields.

All this training bore more fruit than the superiors had expected.

A full year passed under that training,

where the expectations of all the council members and the Kazekage were surprised to see how everyone was much stronger than when they entered.

Those who benefited most from this type of training were the ones who didn't train their body much and preferred jutsu or puppets—making their chakra higher now and giving them an advantage over any normal genin.

Another thing the Kazekage did was promote all who participated in the training camp to chūnin. They no longer had to be in teams with jōnin sensei and could do missions with different teams or form their own.

Shizuka, for her part, had left the team because she wanted to become ANBU—her skills were much better in that field, so she decided to enter the training to become one.

Sasori had decided to focus on improving his puppets along with the puppet unit, deciding to help his grandmother create a new form of puppet never seen before.

Takumi decided to stay in contact, but as a ninja, he also had his missions—so Daigo was left alone to do missions. And though he could get new teammates for missions, he had something to do—and if he didn't start now, he wouldn't achieve it.

Daigo was in the Kazekage's tower, waiting to be let in. Though he didn't look nervous, Daigo was actually a bit curious about the answer the Kazekage would give him.

Looking at the secretary approaching him, he stood up and walked behind her until reaching the door and knocking.

Knock knock.

The Kazekage's voice was heard, giving the alert that he could enter.

Daigo entered, seeing that the Kazekage seemed to be alone doing his paperwork. Approaching, he bowed his head to show respect.

"Daigo, how have you been these days since the training ended?" the Kazekage asked, looking at Daigo, who just nodded.

"All good—training more on a project, since Sasori and Shizuka are doing their own things. So I'll have to get strong my way," Daigo said.

The Kazekage nodded, knowing the movements of all his talented ninjas.

"How can I help you, Daigo?" the Kazekage asked.

At this, Daigo took out a scroll and handed it to the Kazekage, who didn't hesitate and grabbed it to start reading.

"Kazekage, I came here to tell you about my project that I've been studying since the academy—it's creating my own bloodline," Daigo said, letting the Kazekage continue reading while nodding at his words.

"This is interesting, Daigo. All this was done by you?"

"That's right—though I also received help from Pakura thanks to her own bloodline," Daigo said.

"I see why Pakura would help you—a very good kunoichi. Though you know that achieving this is almost impossible."

"You said it yourself, Kazekage—almost, but not impossible. I have the idea that thanks to my strong affinity, it could work. But I'd like you to give me more information on how you created your bloodline—to be 75% sure it could work," Daigo explained.

At his words, the Kazekage just stared at him seriously. Giving his research on his bloodline was something he would never do—even when teaching Rasa, he had let him learn at home without leaving.

He did this to prevent it from being stolen or even copied by others. But looking at Daigo, maybe it could be possible—if as he says, achieving a new bloodline for Suna before the war would be a factor that would help a lot.

"Daigo, you know what you're asking is a top-security secret."

At this, Daigo nodded without lowering his head, with full confidence.

"I understand, and that's why I came personally to ask you. You know as well as I do that a new bloodline in Suna would help like never before," Daigo said.

At these words, silence fell in the room where the Kazekage and Daigo looked eye to eye, measuring how much confidence was in this project.

After a few minutes in silence, it was broken by the Kazekage moving from his seat to a shelf, grabbing a scroll, and then throwing it to Daigo.

"This is an A-rank mission that could be S-rank due to its importance more than danger. I want you to be the mission leader and find your team to complete it. If it's a success, I'll give you everything you need for your bloodline creation," the Kazekage said.

"I understand, Kazekage-sama. I'll complete this mission without error and help Suna get a new bloodline," Daigo said, then leaving the room, leaving the Kazekage to continue his paperwork.

With Daigo, he went straight home to read the details of the important mission the Kazekage had given him.

Opening the scroll with his blood, he started reading.

(Scroll)

Mission Rank: A-S

Issuer: Third Kazekage

Mission Leader: Daigo, Chūnin of Sunagakure

You are tasked with immediate travel to the Dead Sands region, the westernmost and most desolate point in the Land of Wind. Your objective is to escort and protect Suna's Blacksmith Unit.

You must ensure the extraction of Black Grain Magnetite. This mineral is the cornerstone for the development of the next generation of Suna's Puppet Units. The purity of this metal will allow our puppets to have chakra conductivity never seen before, granting an absolute tactical advantage over the other Great Nations.

II. ENVIRONMENT AND THREATS

Intelligence reports indicate that the deposit, located in the Cave of Iron Shadows, has been surrounded by a plague of highly aggressive endemic fauna. These are specimens of scorpions that have consumed the mineral, integrating it into their biological structure.

III. PROTOCOL WITH THE BLACKSMITHS

The blacksmiths are a vital resource of the village. Their safety is your maximum priority, even above extracting the metal. If the Master Blacksmith perishes, the knowledge to process the Magnetite will be lost forever.

Daigo, leaving the scroll on the bed, could only think about the mission—and that it wasn't as simple as he thought, like assassination or picking up something simple.

Seeing the details, he knew he needed a team capable of defending the blacksmiths—as well as loyal to Suna and not selling this information.

Thinking about who to call, one person was clear—especially for the scorpions—and that was Pakura. With her Katon, she would be the perfect weapon to deal with the scorpions. He also thought of Shizuka, but she was busy training.

He could bring Arata, but that lunatic didn't fight carefully—he'd cause more problems than help complete the mission, making it harder. So surely his great friend Sasori wouldn't say no—so that's three, missing only one.

Daigo thought and thought until, from his house roof, he noticed the figure of Baki walking, looking quite tired after training—and he knew he was the safest choice.

Using shunshin, he appeared in front of Baki, who was a bit surprised to see Daigo in front of him.

"Huh? Baki, looks like training was tough," Daigo greeted with a smile at the sight of the tired Baki.

"I trained for quite a while, Daigo. What do you need? I doubt you came just to say hi," Baki responded, looking at Daigo, who just nodded.

"I have a mission where I'm the leader and need one more member. You up for joining?" Daigo asked.

"Huh? What rank mission? I don't have time to waste on easy missions," Baki said.

"That's a secret until you accept—I can't give details," Daigo said to Baki, who just looked at him, searching for a lie in his words.

"When do we leave?" Baki asked.

"Tomorrow at first light at the main gates," Daigo said, then using shunshin again and disappearing to go to the homes of the other two who would help him on this mission.
