After General Li left, people from other cities soon arrived one after another.
Bai Jue, however, found an excuse and slipped away early.
Tomorrow, he would be entering a spatial gate—there were preparations to make.
More importantly, he still needed to consume the Witch Clan bloodline.
Back home, Bai Jue didn't hesitate.
He took out the Witch Clan Bloodline and swallowed it in one gulp.
Instantly, a scorching heat surged through his body, racing through his limbs and bones. In the next moment, Bai Jue could clearly feel his physique strengthening at an astonishing speed.
The Witch Clan—
Legends claimed they were descendants of Pangu's bloodline, cultivators who focused purely on the physical body.
Moments later, Bai Jue opened his eyes.
He clenched his fist and threw a punch.
Boom!
The air shattered with a sharp sonic crack.
"Incredible…"
Bai Jue couldn't help but marvel.
"As expected of the Witch Clan bloodline. My strength and speed have completely doubled."
In terms of pure physical attributes alone, his body now rivaled that of a High-Tier First-Rank Festival Envoy.
And this was only a thin trace of the Witch Clan bloodline.
If it were true origin blood…
Would it be even more terrifying?
Perhaps he could even awaken Witch Clan divine abilities.
Thinking of the Twelve Ancestral Witches of ancient legends, Bai Jue's eyes burned with excitement.
But he quickly shook his head.
That kind of thing could wait—whether he would ever obtain it was still unknown.
Taking a deep breath, Bai Jue picked up the notebook he had brought back and began reading seriously.
This notebook was his reward for defeating Qian Chen.
A cultivation journal left behind by a Mid-Yuan Festival Envoy.
"Mid-Yuan has four core abilities:
Underworld Palace, Yinfire, Evil Judgment, and Yama Domain."
"Beyond these four, there exists a fifth ability—but whether it can be obtained depends on fate and talent. Only those who truly communicate with Mid-Yuan's consciousness may awaken it."
"To increase Mid-Yuan's recognition, one must…"
Bai Jue read intently, absorbing every word.
System notifications began sounding one after another.
[Notification: You carefully studied a senior's notes. Comprehension +1.]
[Notification: Your study attracted Mid-Yuan's attention. Mid-Yuan Recognition +5%.]

[Notification: You obtained a reward: Focus.]
[Focus: When learning, greatly increases concentration and learning efficiency.]
The system prompts echoed continuously.
Yet Bai Jue seemed completely unaware of them.
He remained deeply immersed in the notebook.
Time passed silently.
Only when dawn arrived did Bai Jue finally finish reading the thick journal.
A familiar interface surfaced before his eyes.
[Bai Jue]
Realm: First-Rank Festival Envoy
Mid-Yuan Recognition: 70%
Festival: Mid-Yuan
Weapon: Soul-Hooking Scythe
Mid-Yuan Abilities: Underworld Palace, Yinfire, ???, ???
Abilities: Danger Sense, Focus
Comprehension: 17 (Average: 9–10)
The night hadn't brought a major boost in raw power—
But Mid-Yuan's recognition had skyrocketed to 70%.
"So close…"
Bai Jue murmured, excitement flickering in his eyes.
Just thirty percent more—
And he would awaken his second festival.
Rubbing his eyes, Bai Jue stood up and stretched his slightly stiff body. After taking a shower and changing clothes, he hadn't even had time to dry his hair—
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Someone was knocking at the door.
Bai Jue opened it and froze.
"Di Yao? Why are you here?"
Standing outside was Di Yao, dressed in black leather jacket and pants, looking cool and rebellious. A lollipop dangled from her mouth—she looked like a delinquent girl at first glance.
No—
A legal delinquent loli.
"Call me Teacher,"
Di Yao said, lifting her foot and lightly kicking Bai Jue's leg.
Due to the height difference, it barely reached his calf—and felt more like a massage than a kick.
"…Alright, Teacher,"
Bai Jue sighed.
"So what brings you here this early?"
"To take you to the spatial gate, obviously,"
Di Yao replied.
"I spent all night gathering data to plan your training schedule. Be mentally prepared—if you can't handle hardship, quit early."
"Don't worry,"
Bai Jue smiled.
"I can take some pain."
After grabbing a few essentials, Bai Jue followed her outside and asked,
"Do we need to prepare anything?"
"Nope. Just follow me."
Di Yao shook her head and headed straight for a rugged off-road vehicle, hopping into the driver's seat and gesturing for Bai Jue to get in.
Bai Jue stared at the car in disbelief.
"Teacher… can your feet even reach the pedals?"
"Who are you looking down on?"
Di Yao scoffed.
"It's custom-made. Cost over a hundred thousand Union Credits. Get in."
"…Alright,"
Bai Jue shrugged as he sat in the passenger seat and immediately fastened his seatbelt.
Di Yao stepped on the gas.
The vehicle shot forward.
After a long, bumpy ride, they finally arrived.
They were now outside the city.
Dense greenery stretched as far as the eye could see—untamed and primitive.
Ahead of them stood a massive spatial gate.
The portal shimmered with radiant blue light, dazzling and majestic.
Armed soldiers patrolled the area, wielding heavy weapons.
Even without stepping inside, faint strands of black mist seeped from the gate, carrying an eerie, sinister aura.
As Bai Jue and Di Yao approached, the soldiers immediately let them pass.
After parking, Di Yao wasted no words.
"Let's go. You'll probably be stuck with me inside for the next month."
She stepped straight into the spatial gate.
Bai Jue scratched his head, hesitated briefly—
Then followed her in.
