In a quick reaction, Cassian planted his legs into either side of the wolf's leg and kicked up. This swung his body around the wolf and brought the sword halfway out of the beast.
He briefly let go of the sword with one of his hands and flipped his body back into an upright position.
Then he brought both hands above his head and back to the sword.
Using all his strength, he swung downward, activating sword slash at the same time.
He heard a ripping noise, and his sword broke through the wolf's leg.

Based on the damage, it was his first critical hit.
He quickly landed on his feet, only for the wolf to already be thrusting its open maw towards him.
In a split second, he dodged the attack and in the process, left a little cut on its neck.

Without hesitation, he continued with a second attack, this time on its injured leg.
The wolf was not able to move the leg in time and suffered another bout of damage.
The back and forth continued, Cassian either dodging and counterattacking or trading hits with the beast.
Until it was on its last fifty health.
At that point, he could see its very desire to live behind its eyes. From what he had learned in their battle, it was definitely an intelligent being, but how far did that notion go?
What effect did the demonic power really have?
What surprised him was that even on its last dregs of health points, it did not desire to run. He was sure that with its size, even with an injured leg, it could successfully run away from him.
Then he understood something, from start to finish, their eyes never left each other.
It was not merely fighting for its own life; it was fighting to claim his own.
"Good!" He grinned madly.
Both he and the wolf charged; this time, he jumped straight on top of it.
He sank his blade a total of three times into the flesh of the wolf.

Each stab came with a tussle with the wolf; it shook wildly around, refusing to die.
However, it fell onto the ground, and he followed.
It was a tough battle that was not possible without his pseudo skill. In total, the battle was around twenty minutes, a short time for a normal person, but in battle, it was an eternity.
After closing his eyes for a minute, he began to collect his rewards.
The first two green orbs are coming out of the wolf.
'Two uncommon pieces of equipment?'
Cassian was shocked. Only a boss would drop something like that. He was expecting one, but two would make him filthy rich.
Considering the strength of the wolf, it was reasonable, but the wolf did not belong in the dungeon in the first place.
He quickly looked at the equipment it dropped, relying on his advanced senses to ensure nobody was spying on him.

The boots gave him little benefit, but the ring was insanely valuable. Not only did it have the mana recovery option, which is highly desired, but it also had a skill option, and the skill option could be used for both melee and support classes.
Basically put, there was not a class in the world that would not desire the ring. If he combined the boots, he could increase the damage of the rings buff.
'The boots are better off with Alizée.'
The ring's skill would be wasted on her since she did not use a melee weapon. However, her fire skill could greatly benefit from the boots.
After equipping the ring and the boots, he checked his level.

Checking his status, something immediately popped out at him: his total mana. Equipping the ring and boots had boosted his total mana by a huge amount.
He would not have the boots forever, but it resolved his current need for mana. And with that problem resolved, he once again had to put his focus on where to place his stat point.
He did not exactly need more health points at the current time, so his choices were strength and agility.
Both contributed to damage, but his current equipment favored agility. While his skills were ever slightly in favor of strength. The only difference is the levels of his sword cut and slash skill.
Agility gives a very slight bonus to attack speed, but not noticeable enough to mean anything at his current level.
In the end, he decided to split the point to make both his strength and agility round numbers. While it meant little in terms of how he gained stats, getting all stats to ten is considered an achievement for hunters.
He now had a total of 39.9 stat points without equipment. Equivalent to an average level 9 E-rank. However also only equivalent to a level 4 C-rank.
His power was still leagues ahead of anybody else in his class, afterall he just beat a level 7 Elite monster. Imbued with demonic energy, many parties might still have trouble fighting it.
Not to mention that he probably had the highest level out of his entire year, the only people who could compare to his power were the A and S ranks.
He had gained a lot from the fight, but one of the important parts was the equipment. Most people had common equipment, so it was mainly a rush to get a set of full uncommon equipment.
Only professional hunters or rich second generations would have rare equipment. Which meant he was far ahead of normal people.
Once out of the dungeon, he could exchange the boots for something more fitting for him. That would increase his power quite a bit compared to a pair of mage boots.
