Nora's POV
"Hold on, what did you just say?" The words tumble from my lips even though I heard Hugo perfectly clear.
"The gates are sealed tight, sweetheart. You managed to keep most of the demons from breaking free, but now we're stuck down here with them."
"You escaped before," Kevin points out, his voice carrying a dangerous edge.
"That took me decades to accomplish, and I wasn't chained up like a Christmas turkey back then," Hugo replies, striding through the cavernous hall. I scramble to keep pace, my heels echoing against the sulfur-stained stone beneath us. "I'll find us a way out, don't you worry. Though getting a pregnant half-human out of here might prove challenging without cracking open another gate. We can't risk letting any more of these bastards loose on earth, can we?"
