Nora's POV
I shove my dinner plate away and let out a heavy breath. "This has been the most exhausting damn day I've ever lived through."
"And here I am, having missed all the action."
Gideon cuts another bite of cake with deliberate precision. We're sitting in the kitchen where I just demolished my fourth serving of pasta. Ophelia and Charlette are in the library with the werewolves, making sure they're settled for the night. The day has drained us all completely.
"I still can't wrap my head around the fact that you traveled to Hell without me, sister."
I shake my head with a tired laugh. "Trust me, next time you can come along for the full experience. Though what I saw was probably just the tip of the iceberg." I drain the last of my cranberry juice. "It makes me curious about what the other hellish realms must be like."
"Stop right there." Gideon points his fork at me like a weapon. "From this moment until dawn, you are officially off supernatural duty."
