Nora's POV
The word escapes my lips like a whisper made of steel.
"War."
My voice sounds fragile, barely holding together. "He has to be the one behind this."
"We can't be certain." James shifts position, pressing me against the cold brick wall while placing himself between me and the street. The gesture sends me spiraling back to that moment when he threw himself in front of a bullet meant for me during our last encounter with a Horseman. Even knowing he could heal, the memory still makes my chest tighten with terror.
His gaze finds Antonia. "Return to the establishment. If danger approaches, secure all entrances and move everyone from the windows. Take the others to the basement and remain there until my return."
"Hold on." My fingers wrap around both of his hands, gripping tight. "Where exactly are you planning to go?"
