Nora's POV
My breath catches in my throat. "Okay, where exactly am I supposed to find one of those?"
Hugo's mouth curves into that familiar smirk. "Lucky for us, Hell has plenty of souls to spare. Don't worry though, we won't be using one of the good ones."
I whip my head toward Kevin, expecting to see the same horror I feel written across his face. Instead, his expression remains frustratingly neutral. "Hold on. I'm going to use an actual soul? That's completely wrong, isn't it?"
Kevin's forehead creases as he considers this. "Technically, you'd be doing it a favor. The soul is trapped in Hell, suffering eternal torment. Creating a portal with it would free it from that pain."
"Sort of," Hugo mutters under his breath.
My stomach drops. "What exactly are you not telling us?" Kevin's eyes narrow as he looks back at the notebook.
