Nora's POV
The container of food nearly slips from my grasp. James moves with supernatural speed, snatching it before it crashes to the floor and placing it safely on the counter. I steal a glance at him, my breath catching. This situation could spiral out of control fast.
"I warned you it sounded insane," Barbara mutters under his breath.
"Not insane at all. But what convinced you it was an angel?" Charlette asks, her composed expression helping me regain my composure.
"That's what the priest told us," Vallerie explains. "A healer visited our pack to help Alonzo. When she discovered he was possessed, she directed us to St. Coco's Church."
Her voice wavers as she recounts the previous night's events. "Father Jefferson believed he could perform an exorcism, but when we got there, he claimed he'd been praying and an angel instructed him to bring Alonzo here. The angel supposedly said you could help in ways he couldn't."
