I shut the ancient tome and massage my aching temples, releasing a weary breath. "God, I could really use another cup of coffee right now," I mutter to Rhianna.
She's sprawled across the library floor like a lazy cat, completely ignoring the stack of books Gideon brought over this morning. James still has several volumes waiting for translation, and right now I'd kill for even a fraction of his supernatural speed.
Ever since Kevin showed up yesterday, my pulse hasn't slowed down. The thought of Dad facing some kind of cosmic punishment because of my actions makes my stomach churn. The whispers about him joining forces with his younger brother are damaging enough, but what happens when they discover he eliminated Jaden? Will they execute him?
