Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: After the Conquest of Eryndor

Aeth:"Inform the people you sent to Caelmor to say that Eryndor is under siege by a large army. Tell them that the attackers are thirty thousand warriors supported by the people, and that they are attempting to carry out a popular uprising there. Let them say that the number of civilians surrounding the city is extremely large. Say that Eryndor's warriors are busy suppressing the rebellion inside the palace and that they should come to assist. After that, tell them that they will unite in front of the fortress walls and defeat the remaining rebels together. This message will be sent in Eldrin's name; his personal seal is already in our possession. Because of their arrogance, they believe that these walls will never fall even if the world collapses. Also, include in the letter that the generals who come to help will be granted great rewards by Eldrin. State that their situation is currently critical."

Aeth:"At the same time, send several people to Ferdinand. Let them inform him that Eryndor has already been conquered. Now it is your turn. The Chaos Emperor wishes to see your capability."

Tharic:"I will carry out the order immediately, my Emperor!"

Aeth:"Also, gather everyone as quickly as possible. At the latest, we will enter a new war within three weeks. The great responsibility now lies on Ferdinand's shoulders."

Tharic:"I understand, my Emperor. We will immediately tend to the wounded and prepare the remaining forces for the next war."

Aeth:"At the same time, take care of the city's population as well. If anyone causes trouble for the civilians, they will face my wrath!"

At that moment, in the mountains surrounding Eryndor…

Nexella (in astonishment):"Ha… ha… ha… ha… Did you see that, Valdor? You just witnessed what happened! Look at what these feeble humans have done! This human continues to astonish me without pause! Ha… ha… ha… ha…"

Valdor (jealously):"My Queen, I only saw deception here. Nothing else surprised me. It is ordinary human trickery. There is nothing extraordinary about it."

Nexella:"Valdor, this is not the place for jealousy. Whether trickery or tactics, it makes no difference. They took the fortress that we were unable to seize! And most importantly, they shattered the magnificent Eryndor walls that have been considered unconquerable for centuries. If that Dwarf King had seen this, his tongue would have been frozen in rage and astonishment… ha… ha… ha… ha…"

Valdor:"You are right, my Queen. However, what surprised me even more than the walls is that the auras of warrior aura-users were ineffective against this human. This indicates only one thing. This human is not a hero; he has awakened a demon aura!"

Nexella (seriously):"Valdor, I noticed that as well. That is precisely what excited me. It is very interesting what kind of developments the future will bring."

Valdor:"I hope that this aura will not become a second problem."

Nexella:"Only time will tell, Valdor. Now it is time to leave. We have left the country unattended for long enough. I trusted you and came here, and you left it unguarded. Be certain, this will not go unpunished."

Valdor:"Forgive me, my Queen. I am ready for any punishment."

Nexella and Valdor set off toward the Dragonlands…

Aeth's men deliver the letter bearing Eldrin's seal to the Caelmor palace. Caelmor's ruler, Ralden, receives the letter. Ralden reads it.

Ralden (laughing):"So Eldrin, it seems you are in trouble. You always thought yourself superior. Even when you were part of the Chaos Empire, you could not fit between heaven and earth. Now it seems you are in a pitiful state! Ha… ha… ha… ha… This is exactly what you deserve."

Jorvan (Palace Noble):"My lord, will you go to provide assistance?"

Ralden:"No. Let that arrogant fool learn what hardship truly is!"

Jorvan:"My lord, please do not misunderstand me, but Eryndor is a vital location for all of Kravendorn. If we do not send help now and Eldrin informs King Gerald of this, it will not be good for us at all. On the contrary, if we go to assist, Eldrin will owe you a debt, his reputation will fall, and when King Gerald hears of it, he may even grant you control of Eryndor's defense. Do you not think this is a good opportunity? To prove Eldrin's incompetence?"

Ralden:"Actually, that is an excellent idea. In that case, I would completely crush that fool's arrogance. You touched upon a very good point. If the Eryndor throne were given to me, be assured that I would make you my closest aide."

Jorvan:"Thank you very much, my lord. It would always be an honor."

Ralden:"Prepare the entire army immediately. We march to Eryndor. Leave a small unit behind for palace defense; that will be sufficient."

Jorvan:"My lord, will you also join the expedition?"

Ralden:"Of course, Jorvan. I want to personally witness Eldrin's desperation. And everyone must see who the true hero really is."

Jorvan:"I understand, my lord. As you see fit."
