Nick Fury felt he had asked an idiotic question. He had carefully analyzed Thor's personality, but when faced with him in person, he found the guy to be even more simple-minded than he had imagined.
"He has the Tesseract and can teleport at any time,"
Finney chimed in, "So we're considering a way to kill him in one blow to prevent him from escaping."
"No, you can't do that!"
Thor exclaimed in shock. Although Loki had tormented him countless times, he was still his half-brother.
"This is just a final plan; we haven't discussed such a plan yet." Nick Fury frowned and glanced at Finney. Although Finney was joking, he had genuinely considered it, but hadn't yet brought it up.
Although Nick Fury was in charge here, Thor clearly trusted Finney's words more. His worry hadn't disappeared, and he said, "Loki is an Asgardian; his fate should be left to Asgard."
"We'll discuss that after we capture him,"
Nick Fury neither agreed nor disagreed, changing the subject. "I have a plan; listen to it."
After listening to Nick Fury's explanation, Finney thought it seemed feasible.
The plan was simple, mainly revolving around one point: separate Loki from the Tesseract, find bait to lure Loki out, and then send someone in to infiltrate and take the Tesseract.
"Who should be the bait?"
Captain America also thought it was feasible and nodded, asking.
Everyone's attention turned to Thor, who had just arrived. Before Thor's arrival, the identity of the bait might have needed discussion, but with Thor present, there was clearly no need for further discussion.
Thor also felt obligated to be the bait, looking at Nick Fury and saying, "What should I do?"
"Just lure him out in whatever way you think is most likely!"
Nick Fury replied.
"Wait, how can we make sure Loki doesn't bring the Rubik's Cube with him to Thor?"
Banner asked, raising his hand.
"So we have to wait!"
Nick Fury glanced at everyone and said, "We'll proceed once we're sure he's started studying the Rubik's Cube."
Since no one offered any alternative plans, they had to proceed according to Nick Fury's plan for the time being. Finney, however, thought that extracting the seventh skill first would give him a better chance of success when confronting Loki.
After defeating Thor, he only needed one more experience point; perhaps just one more battle would be enough to extract it.
Because they were unsure when to begin their operation, the group settled down on the Sky Helicarrier.
Besides them, there were many S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on the carrier, and of course, many Hydra agents were likely mixed in as well. Finney, once again equipped with 'Possessed by Evil,' attracted attention wherever he went.
However, the most attention-grabbing individuals weren't Finney, but rather Captain America and Thor.
Tony, the Iron Man, had been around for too long, and the novelty had worn off. Finney was too mysterious and didn't talk to people, making him difficult to approach. As
for Banner, a greasy middle-aged man, aside from inexplicably attracting Natasha's attention, few agents paid him any attention.
Only Captain America and Thor, those two tough guys, with their muscular physiques, seemed clueless about modern society, always asking for help with everything they encountered. Their
friendly and approachable demeanor, coupled with their alluring physiques, made them incredibly popular with both men and women.
So much so that when Finney arrived at Captain America's door, he noticed several female agents lingering nearby, their eyes frequently glancing in their direction.
Captain America was somewhat surprised by Finney's visit, but he didn't turn her away.
"What's up?"
Although his impression of Finney had changed somewhat, she was still someone who had saved him, so Captain America's attitude wasn't as stern as it was with Tony.
While it wasn't very polite to speak to someone while dressed in 'possessed by a demon,' considering the matter he was about to discuss, Finney said, "Interested in a sparring match?"
"A sparring match!?"
Captain America was taken aback, then frowned at Finney and asked, "Why?"
"To see what my teammate's strength is like!"
Finney explained his reasoning to Captain America: "This way, you can make better arrangements in case of an emergency."
Although Finney's explanation seemed a bit far-fetched, it was still reasonable. However, Captain America shook his head and replied, "I'm not some commander!"
"It's alright!"
Finney waved his hand dismissively, then continued, "You're not planning to rest so early, are you? Even though your body isn't young anymore, don't let your mindset become old-fashioned!"
"..."
Captain America looked at Finney speechlessly, but still didn't agree. Instead, he frowned and said, "Why did you come to me? I'm no match for you!"
After witnessing Finney's battle with Thor, he had a certain judgment.
Although he was invincible in his era, daring to single-handedly storm Hydra's base and fight his way in and out seven times, he was still no match for someone like Finney who defied the norm.
Finney couldn't say that the entire Avengers was only missing you, Hawkeye, and Black Widow to fight, because those two were ordinary people with limited experience, so he came to you instead.
It's true that the lack of other options was a factor.
Tony's armor had been damaged several times by Thor, and he was currently undergoing emergency repairs and improvements.
Banner was tasked by Nick Fury with researching the program to determine if the Tesseract was activated, and the current situation made it difficult to summon the Hulk.
While Thor was a better choice, winning with Mjolnir wouldn't be easy, and Nick Fury was currently trying to gather information about Asgard from him, so he couldn't spare the time.
As for Hawkeye and Black Widow, they were ordinary people and were last resorts.
Finney could have gone to Kamar-Taj to find Mordo, but considering the long separation and the impolite thought of immediately fighting him, he ultimately chose Captain America.
"It's just a friendly spar, don't worry about winning or losing, it's mainly to get to know each other better,"
Finney said nonchalantly. Of course, if Captain America hadn't witnessed Finney threatening Thor to admit defeat, he might have believed him more.
"Where should we fight then?"
Seeing Finney's persistent pleading, Captain America finally agreed, standing up and twisting his neck as he asked.
"Put on your combat suit first, then grab your equipment."
Finney glanced at the shield in the corner; it seemed to contain other elements besides vibranium, which was why it couldn't be copied.
Having agreed, Captain America didn't hesitate. He went into the bedroom, put on his old, vintage combat suit, picked up the shield, and asked, "Don't tell me we're fighting here!"
"Of course not. Come to think of it, last time we experienced this, you were still in the ice!"
Finney said, conjuring a sparking portal—the very spot where he had fought Thor.
"This world changes so fast!"
Captain America sighed involuntarily, looking at the portal before stepping through it.
Finney followed closely, closing the portal. The bright moonlight bathed the earth, not obstructing their vision. Without
further ado, they began their battle.
However, the situation was somewhat unexpected for Finney. He had intended to use a few skills to outmaneuver Captain America and win, but after several tens of minutes, he still hadn't defeated him.
Captain America, who should have been on par with Red Skull, remained unscathed despite his attacks, though this was partly due to his reluctance to use too much force.
Even so, it was enough to surprise Finney. With his current strength, he only managed to take a few steps back when exchanging punches with Thor.
"This is illogical!"
Looking at Captain America, slightly out of breath but still standing tall, holding his shield, Finney couldn't help but add, "And it's not magic!"
Although
Finney felt that if he really went all out and used his full power, he could defeat Captain America, but that would defeat the purpose of this battle.
