The blade drove through the air towards Auryn but his fist hit the ground first, causing a resounding shockwave that tore outward.
it wasn't anything earth-shattering. But it came with enough force from what little mana he had left to create space, in order to knock Nika back half a step or dissuade his relentless push.
"I just came out of the breach," Auryn snarled, blood dripping from his mouth.
His eyes narrowed. "I didn't do this."
While he spoke with voice tainted with rage. Nika's eyes remained cold and focused almost like he'd concluded nothing Auryn said was going to change his mind.
"Liar."
That word flipped something in Auryn. It was like a wake up call to how this was going to end.
Instead of resignation, rage flooded through Auryn's chest instead.
The rage didn't gain life from despair nor from the crushing weight of fate grinding him down at him before he could even catch up.
What he felt was pure, fury at the timing of this bullshit. The perfect placement.
