Nika had stood amongst the shattered bodies of what the mission contract called a haunted house.
The aftermath left none of the preserved victims intact even after Lightbane had severed the magic and freed them.
The frozen bodies had been in that state for too long and as such dissipated into dust leaving nothing to moan nor bury.
Lyssa and Garran easily escaped the petrification much to Nika's relief. Even though he was still heart-broken he couldn't save any of victims just like he couldn't save Harold.
The thoughts ate at his mind even while they returned to the guild.
At the Continental guild, the party reported the true nature of the commission but what really bothered Nika wasn't the money or the shock they attracted when they reported but when Thraxx was to return.
