Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

I am right in the backyard of the house. Believe it or not, Motohama had his own thing going on. If I can say he was smart, at least this decision was the most reasonable thing he has done since I entered his body, or something like that.

The boy peered into an old doghouse. Apparently, they used to have a dog, but for some strange reason, it was found dead one morning. Judging from Motohama's memories, I can tell it was his neighbors who killed the little dog. They seemed to have an irrational hatred for the animal.

"Holy shit. How many people hate this kid enough to kill his pet?"

I muttered as I pulled a small briefcase out of the doghouse. This kid's life was literally awful, no matter how I looked at it.

I found this memory very suspicious, where the dog simply appeared dead. It did not make sense when the neighbors actually treated Motohama well.

"Could it be that the father killed him and blamed the neighbors?"

That is the only thing I could theorize, since the memories of the black haired man were too confusing to fully understand.

It was overflowing with cash. If Motohama's memories are correct, there should be at least 200,000 yen here. It is a shame the Japanese currency is worth so little. It is barely 20,000 dollars. It is neither a lot nor a little, but I will make do for now.

Some might say that is quite a lot of money, but actually, if you take into account that I have to cover a large part of the expenses, it is not as much as you might think.

I thought this while grabbing some money to get through today. Tomorrow, I will have to figure out what to do.

Motohama knew his father well, and he knew perfectly well that the day he simply disappeared, his father would do the same. That is why he prepared himself, saving almost all of his allowance and hiding it here so his father would not find it.

Now I understand what Sagi meant when he mentioned that Motohama was, in fact, the brains of the team.

I packed my things to go back to school and hoped that another incident like last time would not happen. But before that, I tidied myself up. My glasses did not suit me, so I took them off. Since I still had some time, I decided to cut my hair. Although I liked having long hair, in fights, just as Xenovia had told me, it would be a huge disadvantage.

After getting my hair cut, I went to a small cafe to get something to eat. When I finished, I looked at my watch and realized something.

I took the necklace to hide my magic now that I know it was much more important than I intended.

I checked out my new look in one of the mirrors, and it was actually quite good without the glasses and with my hair a little shorter.

"I'm late."

I said, worried, as I paid and ran out as fast as I could so I would not be late for my first day with this new look.

Just as I was walking to school, I bumped into a girl I did not expect to see so soon. Maybe later, but not now.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see where I was going."

A girl with purple hair, dressed in what appeared to be a school uniform, spoke. Not like ours, but a completely different one, similar to the one I will be reigning over.

Her eyes and expression were serious, even cold. She had tanned skin, a feature that was not very noticeable but was nonetheless remarkable.

"Don't worry, I wasn't looking where I was going either."

I answered, as I prepared to continue on my way. But she grabbed my arm. A real shiver ran through my body.

I did not fully understand, but she knew. I had made a mistake, and she knew it completely.

"I'm sorry, but I think I should make it up to you somehow. How about a little date with me?"

She said, blushing slightly as she crossed her arms to accentuate her breasts. This was the same trap they had used against Issei.

Damn, she is really good. Motohama or Issei would have fallen for a beauty like this instantly.

"At 8:00, at a small fast food stand called Burger Queen."

I said hurriedly, then ran with all my might, getting as far away from her as I could.

I knew that if I did not say that, she would probably lock me in those strange barriers and kill me right there. Nobody would see anything, absolutely nothing. They would only see a body fall somewhere, if they even left a body, or if they simply made it disappear completely.

I knew perfectly well who she was.

"Kalawarner."

She is one of Raynare's companions. She must have sensed that I have awakened my magic. Damn it, I hope I am strong enough to stop her.

Now I would have to be much more careful, since I had accidentally and unintentionally changed history almost without knowing it.

Although this was for the best. If she found out first, it was better. I could plan something else later to defeat her.

I thought about a few things and planned something interesting to finish her off.

I told myself as I ran as fast as I could toward school.

When I arrived, I bumped right into some other people I had not expected to see, Sona and Tsubaki.

"You're wearing the school uniform, but I haven't seen you before. Are you a new student?"

Sona said, stopping me along with Tsubaki. The girl with glasses seemed quite wary of me, as she had never really seen me looking so different.

"Excuse me, what are you talking about, Sona? I'm Motohama."

I replied. It was obvious they had recognized me almost immediately.

Both girls were so surprised that their eyes looked like they were going to pop out if it were not for their glasses.

Since they did not believe me, I had to take out my student ID card. They were surprised to see that it was indeed my card.

It was a little annoying.

But I suppose such a sudden change would have confused practically everyone.

Although it was not really that much. I had just stopped wearing glasses and cut my hair. I did not think it had caused such a big change in my appearance.

"But well, I guess when you told me you were going to change, I should have taken it more seriously."

The girl with glasses said while looking at me. I could already feel her nodding as if she accepted the new look I had.

"Yes, the truth is I'm making a lot of changes in my life, and I think I literally feel like a different person."

I said, making fun of my own joke a little, since she would not understand to what extent this was the truth.

She simply nodded while thinking that I was really pulling myself together.

"Well, I really hope it is more than just a physical change."

She said, while looking genuinely happy that one of her biggest headaches, along with the other two, had disappeared.

"I promise I will explain everything later, but for now I have to get to class or I will be in trouble. Sorry."

I hurried her along, and she simply nodded as she stepped aside with the other girl to let me pass.

That was all I said before running straight to the living room. Now I had more knowledge, and the memories of Motohama were a little painful at first. I had strange nightmares, but slowly I got used to it.

Although everything that was happening was pretty creepy and now I am literally a different person, I am still me.

"Damn, that was a close call."

I said it while walking, since I had actually dodged quite a wide bullet. And if they themselves did not realize that I had already awakened my magic, then the necklace was working wonderfully.

While I was thinking about that again, and for the second time in a row, I bumped into another girl.

She was much shorter than me, and rather than bumping into her, I would say it was like I was bumping directly into a wall, since she did not seem to have budged at all.

The girl, despite being much shorter than me, just looked at me in confusion with her hazel eyes, like mine. Her hair was white.

And I knew instantly that I had bumped into Koneko.

She just looked at me, a little confused.

"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you later."

I said as I left, knowing that this, coming from one of the known perverts, would usually earn a few blows, and I really did not have time for this stuff.

She just stared at me as I ran. That was pretty confusing, since she never paid much attention to people, but I let it go since I did not really know her at all.

My first class was history, a subject taught by an elderly man. If I recall correctly, he would soon be replaced by Rossweisse.

"I'm sorry, young man. May I ask what you need?"

The teacher asked, thinking that maybe I was from another classroom or that I had made a mistake. This would really be annoying, since he could have looked at the faces of all my classmates and seen that no one recognized me, not even Issei or Matsuda.

"I'm sorry, professor. I'm late."

I said, and with that simple sentence I made the whole room react in surprise, perfectly recognizing my voice.

"Motohama?"

Issei and Matsuda shouted in unison.

"But what happened to you, sir? And where are your glasses?"

The professor asked, believing that I really had vision problems and needed them.

"I decided to change my look a bit. After all, I want to leave a lot of things behind, and glasses are part of that."

But before I could take another step, I saw two familiar people I knew well stand up in unison, their chairs thudding loudly.

"You damned traitor."

Issei and Matsuda said immediately while glaring at me. Both had serious and rather furious expressions. From what I could see, they were genuinely angry with me.

"How on earth are you more attractive now?"

Issei said, accusing me of something that even I did not understand.

"That's right, you damned traitor. Overnight, you are now competing against Kiba for the title of most attractive."

Matsuda said, and I started to get a little angry at this pair of idiots, so I just gave a small, confident smile to play along with them a little.

"To be honest, I was just pretending to be a little ugly so I would not humiliate you all so much. But I guess I eventually stopped caring about you, so call me a traitor. A traitor for being so attractive."

I said this, and the other two immediately became even more enraged, ready to rush over and hit me.

It was not until we all received a wooden ruler on the head that we finally sat down, watching as the old man stood there completely furious with the three of us.

The rest of the classes continued like this until lunchtime. However, I had forgotten to bring food, so I decided to go to the cafeteria. But before I could leave the classroom, I was intercepted by the two perverts.

They both forced me back into my seat, and Issei unintentionally used his demonic strength to restrain me, making escape impossible.

This was still incredibly interesting, even if it did not seem like it. It meant the reincarnated demons' strength was far greater than mine.

"What the hell is going on?"

Issei said, clearly confused. He did not know if it was something supernatural or if his friend had simply changed completely.

"Guys, you are scaring me more than I scare you. I already told you I want to change. If you do not believe me, that is your problem."

I answered, annoyed, since I was starving. I quickly left for the cafeteria.

Both boys were very surprised. He had never spoken to them like that before, and he seemed much more intimidating with his new eyes.

"Have you ever seen him without his glasses?" Matsuda asked Issei.

"Never, but I have to admit that even with those intimidating eyes, I think he will soon be among the most popular. Maybe he will even surpass Kiba if he really wants to change."

Issei replied, now more convinced than ever that they should perform an exorcism on their friend.

It was ironic, considering that he was actually a demon.

Meanwhile, I had already chosen my meal, a simple dish with some meat and rice, the cheapest option available. Although I had money, I did not want to waste it.

Damn it. A reincarnated human should have a strength of at least 500, and I am barely between 300 and 400. If Kalawarner has 600, then even though I practiced magic, I do not have much hope of defeating her, unless…

I was coming up with a plan while I ate. In the middle of my thoughts, someone sat down across from me.

While I continued eating, I was planning my strategy to face the fallen angel. I knew she would just take me to a secluded place and kill me right there.

I had many things to plan one by one, from the location of the spells I had to use to confuse her, to practically planning the entire assault against her.

"Hello."

With those simple words, I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at the person who had spoken. To my surprise, I was met with beautiful blue eyes and even more stunning crimson hair.

I was completely confused. I was a huge fan of Rias, and now she was right in front of me, staring at me.

"H Hello, senpai?"

I answered nervously. I suppose that reaction came from the jumbled memories of Motohama, but I slowly tried to snap out of it. I knew how dangerous she was and how cunning she could be when she put her mind to it.

"I have never seen you before. Can you tell me who you are?"

She asked with a small smile, making me shudder. Seeing her in a drawing is one thing, but in real life it is much harder to talk to her.

Damn it. She definitely has the kind of perfect beauty you would only find in models.

"Well, I am not really that new. In fact, I am friends with one of your club members, Rias senpai."

She was quite surprised, and no wonder. She was amazed by the person sitting before her.

Her surprised expression finally snapped me out of the trance I had been in just by looking at her. I really had to be very careful with her.

"Are you Motohama?"

She asked, genuinely confused, knowing she should be. One of the biggest perverts in school had changed from one moment to the next as if nothing had happened.

"That's right, Rias senpai."

I replied, blushing, as her expression of surprise affected me as well.

She apologized for the small indirect insult she had thrown at me.

"Well, actually, my glasses had something that prevented people from seeing my eyes, but I have always had them like this. I was afraid people would call me a monster for having such intimidating eyes, but over time I got over that fear and decided it was time to open myself up a little more to the world."

I said. I did not know why I told her all this. I suppose the fact that, out of all the anime characters, she was one of my waifus was affecting me.

Damn it. I really need to calm down. I cannot go around telling this story to every beautiful girl I meet, especially her.

"I think I agree with you. If it is for the best, I believe anyone can do whatever they want with their life."

She said. Then we kept talking, this time about sillier things like school, until lunch was over.

"Well, I guess it is time to return to the torture we call studying."

I said, but she held my arm, just like another certain girl had done earlier.

"Could you come to the club when classes are over?"

She asked, sounding a little excited.

Now I understood. It was a trap. Something had gone wrong, and I knew it. She had to know.

I had to avoid her at all costs.

"I would love to, but I already have plans for today. I can go tomorrow."

I said. Although I really wanted to go with her, I knew I had to deal with the other fallen angel first, to make things easier and be able to save Asia the moment she appeared.

"Alright."

She said, somewhat disappointed, but understanding. We both returned to our respective classrooms.

When classes ended, I quickly went home and changed. Even though I ran into the devil, we did not exchange a word. I locked myself in my room and told him I was going out.

"If you die, there will be no funeral for you."

He said in an empty tone, as if he did not care at all.

"If I come back and you are dead, I will keep the house and the land."

That was all I said before closing the door, hearing the sound of glass breaking behind me.

"I suppose he did not like the fact that I defended myself."

I thought, feeling a small sense of revenge for the first time.

I walked for a while until I reached the burger place, a parody of Burger King called Burger Queen. Instead of a king, the mascot looked like a small clown.

And right there stood the fallen angel, dressed in a beautiful and slightly rebellious outfit.

"So, shall we begin this date, miss?"

I said, and she gave me a small, creepy smile filled with murderous intent.

"You can call me Kara, and I hope you are ready for a great date with me."

She said, practically dragging me toward what she believed would be my death.

But it would not end like that. It truly would not.

Yoselia would be the one to give this fallen angel the surprise of her life.
