Chapter 8 - Painting

Lily watched as Fuuko quietly approached the blond, however she was quickly noticed.

"Oh-ho?" She looked over to Fuuko.

"Ah, busted." Fuuko said to herself before the blond went on a question spree-

"Oh, a Japanese girl!"

"Are you a yamato nadeshiko!? OH OH! Or a schoolgirl!?"

"N-No, just Japanese." Fuuko answered.

"WOW! The real deal!" She raised her arms in joy(?) before twirling her clothes to show, "Check out my clothes, pretty Japanese school girl-ish, right!?"

"I love Japanese schoolgirl outfits!"

"Um, sorry, I didn't go to school so I wouldn't know." She waved her hands in rejection and Lily approached from behind.

"I'd say it's good for a gyaru." Lily said with her hands in her pockets.

"Right! That's what I was going for!" She exclaimed before Fuuko took notice of the painting.

"Oh, wow! It's so pretty!" Fuuko admired, "Are those watercolors?"

"Oh! How'd you know?" She was surprised by Fuuko's knowledge, "Do you paint too?"

"Well, you see, I don't get out often-if at all." She scratched the back of her head, embarrassed.

"So I've dabbled here and there..." The blond started blanking out, "Not that I'm any good at it though."

*zip- zip-*

Suddenly the blond pulled out two canvas's from whoknowswhere.

"woah, where'd those come from!" Fuuko was obviously surprised.

"Let's all paint together!" The blond yelled out to the two of them.

"Actualy we're-"

"Let's do it, we're here to have fun after all~" Lily interrupted Fuuko.

"That's the spirit!" She gave a double thumbs up.

...

Lily stared at the blank canvas, brush in hand, wondering what to draw before the blond started asking questions.

"Li'l lucky, Chibi... Which do you like more... stuff that changes, or stuff that stays the same?" She asked.

"Li'l lucky?"

"Chibi!?" Both questioned at the same time... Lily clearly more mad.

"Hee-hee, it's cuz you have luck written on your cap, and you're short after all~" She laughed to herself as Lily grumbled to herself.

"But, me personally, I like stuff that doesn't change." the blond answered her own question, "That's not tied down or swayed by anyone."

"There's just this cool quality to stuff that doesn't change, ya-know?" Fuuko stared as she continued explaining, but Lily locked in to her work.

"That's why I love art."

"I mean think about it, you can capture a moment in this ever changing world as a never changing drawing just like what we're doing now."

"So lucky, chibi, which do you like!?"

Fuuko answered first, as Lily was focused on her painting.

"Uh... That's a tough question!" She waved her arms, "I guess I am..."

"Mind if I think for a bit?" She changed her mind.

"Not at all! How 'bout you Chibi?" She switched targets.

"I will if you stop calling me chibi..." She pouted.

"Fine, fine~"

"Hmph, good enough." She took the answer, knowing full well she will continue.

"I think stuff should change." She took a deep sigh.

"If stuff stays the same, everything gets boring."

"If I stayed as a child I'd hate it." This earned a blank stare from the other two.

"You aren't a child?" The blond asked while tilting her head.

"NO! I'M 25!" Lily was almost in tears, "You guys are mean..."

"Pft-" The blond tried holding her laugh but-

"HAHAHAAHA!!! You're hilarious!" She wiped a tear as she held her belly.

"Whatever... I'm just going to finish this..." Lily grumbled to herself.

...

Night soon came and both Lily and fuuko finished their paintings at the same time.

""Finished!"" They called at the same time.

"Wow you gal's did it! Who first?" She asked and Lily immediately pointed to Fuuko.

"Fuuko, you show." She hid her painting against her chest.

"Lemme see, lemme see!" The blond ran over to Fuuko.

"Um... you won't laugh will you?" She asked as she held it close, "I ended up adding a lot of stuff to it..."

"Oh, that's no big deal! Art is about freedom after all!" She comforted Fuuko as she revealed her art to the others.

The art was beautiful to say the least. It was a clear, shimmering lake with stars around the moon and lush scenery, all reflected on the lake.

"What are those sparkles around the moon?" The blond pointed out.

"Oh... they're um, well uh..." Fuuko fumbled with her words before coming to a conclusion and pointing to the empty sky.

"Well, there's nothing in space, except for the sun and moon right?" She asked.

"Uh, yeah, nothing at all." The blond was confused.

"Well the moon looked awfully lonely up there, so i gave it some friends!" Fuuko smiled.

"How thoughtful of you, Li'l lucky." She nodded.

"You're right, the sky is awfully lonely, after all."

"Yes it can..." Fuuko started before the blond interrupted-

"Now it's Chibi's turn!" She called to the dozed lily.

"Huh... oh right!" She fumbled with her canvas before turning it to the others.

What was depicted was nothing like Fuuko's or the blond's. The canvas showed a scene, a rather frightening one at that.

The paint depicted a multiple large things that looked humanoid, but with skin as dark as night and speckled spots like the friends drawn by Fuuko.

The figures were destroying the planet, step by step, blast by blast.

This left everyone present deeply unsettled, especially the blond as she saw something Fuuko missed- people, people fighting the creatures, that wore a uniform that looked a lot like the Union's.

"I've got my answer..." Fuuko whispered, snapping the blond from her daze.

"For the longest time, I couldn't change, it was so hard on me that I wanted to die."

"But four days ago, I met some cool people..."

"AND MY LIFES BEEN A MADHOUSE EVER SINCE!" She complained.

"I mean the first day we met, he groped me all over and kept me locked up!"

"There's been explosions left and right!"

"Fuuko." The blond started walking away.

"And next thing I know I'm in russia!"

"Fuuko!" Lily tried to get Fuuko's attention again.

"And he never once took my 10-year shut-in into consideration!"

"FUUKO! She's literally walking on water right now!" Fuuko pointed to the blond who was, as mentioned, playing Jesus.

"So young, so green, so naive." She started her villain monologue.

"Despite all those things..." She tightened her red tie, "...Your words still resonate with me."

"Perhaps my age is getting to me..." The water she was standing on started floating.

The pair watched the scene unfold in horror, but luckily-

"Crimson crescent moon!" Andy flew in blazing with a slash to the girl.

"Andy!" Fuuko called out in surprise.

"You haven't changed at all, have you, my deady-dearest~" The blond smiled.
