What are abilities?Where do they come from? Nobody knows.They have been part of this world from it's existence. Every living beings has a chance to awaken an ability at any time of his/her life.
One suddenly feel something inside them awakening and awakens. The person who has awakened the ability gains its name and information directly inside his mind.
An ability can be either passive or active. Since there were no clearly defined ranks for these abilities, the people of the world established a ranking system based on their power and overall effectiveness. The ranks from weakest to strongest, are: E, D, C, B, A, S, Gamma, Alpha, Sigma, and Omega.
An E-Rank ability is classified as Street tier, capable of causing only small scale damage or having limited influence whereas an Omega-Rank ability is capable of affecting the Universe itself. But till now there has not been a single recorded awakening of an Alpha-Rank ability let alone Omega-Rank one in the entire history of the Swan Starfield.
Swan Starfield is a vast expanse of space consting of numerous planetary systems and is the part of Great Silver Galaxy alongside other starfields.

On the night of his 26th birthday, Vill felt something awaken within him, followed by a stream of information entering his mind. It was the information about his ability. He had finally awakened!.
Vill was so excited that he couldn't describe what he was feeling, he had waited for this moment his whole life.After calming himself down,he focused on the information that flooded his mind. The ability he had awakned was called "Sure Kill".
This ability allowed him to kill anyone he wanted. If the target was nearby he only needed to think to kill them and if the target was far away he only need to think of their appearance to kill them instantly. This ability can kill any living being whether human or animal,Moreover it doesn't matter if the appearance he recalled was fake, altered or concealed, once targeted Sure Kill will kill that person regardless.
Vill was astonished after fully digesting the information about his ability, this ability was truly broken if it really can kill anyone regardless of any distance or concealment.Even Vill himself was confused what rank such an ability would be at, as it's description alone put it as a truly terrifying ability.
"Now that I have awakned,I can finally fulfill my wish of going on adventures and explore this vast cosmos" Vill said.
The very next day after awakening Vill went to register himself as an Awakened.Every awakened had to register himself with the Awakeners Association under the Star Council.
Star Council is the ruling entity of the Swan Starfield. It is headed by five influential and powerful Houses which includes the House of Leon, House of Pyrren, House of Dethron, House of Silith and House of Fenrir. The heads of these house are all Gamma-Rank Awakeners and collectively served as the Leaders of the Star Council.
As the part of Great Silver Galaxy, Simmering Veil Empire , the ruling force of the Great Silver Galaxy gave the Star Council the blueprint of the device which can measure the fluctuations of the abilities produced by awakened people.
Although the device couldn't identify what ability a person has awakened but it was enough to determine the rank of the ability. As a result this device has been placed throughout the Awakeners Association and it's branches so new awakners can find out their rank.
And that day when Vill went to register himself as an awakened and when the device scanned his fluctuations, the words that appeared on the screen shook the whole of Anarkia and even the entirety of the Swan Starfield— as at that moment the Starfield's first Alpha-Rank was born.
