Rumble—!
The Red orb radiated a powerful repulsive force, pushing back everything in its path.
Wherever the Red orb passed, trees and the ground were utterly destroyed.
"Whew! That was close!"
Racer looked at the trail of destruction, feeling lucky. He had barely managed to dodge. If he had taken a direct hit from that thing, he'd be dead or at least crippled.
"Huh? Not bad! You actually dodged it!"
Kael's playful voice rang out not far ahead of Racer.
"You bastard!"
"I was curious before why everyone thought you were so fast when you're actually so slow. So, I briefly suspended my 'Limitless.' Your magic is quite interesting. It's not speed-enhancing magic; it slows down the perception of others to make them feel like you're fast."
Kael said this, but the magic was indeed formidable. Seeing how Natsu and the others were beaten without a chance to fight back showed just how terrifying it was.
Too bad for Racer, he ran into Kael. Since Kael was using Satoru Gojo's form, his constant 'Limitless' made perception-altering magic useless against him.
"Don't look down on me!!"
"Gear Change: Red Zone!!"
A red magic circle glowed beneath Racer's feet.
"I don't just lower your sense of speed; my speed is the absolute fastest!!"
Racer slammed his foot down, his body hurtling toward Kael.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Racer's silhouette flickered around Kael, attacking nonstop, but every hit was stalled by 'Infinity.'
"And?"
Kael looked at Racer. This guy's hits were so weak he didn't even feel the need to dodge.
"Dammit!"
Racer's expression soured. Even if he was unwilling to accept it, his own strength wasn't enough to kill this guy. As expected of a monster who could defeat the Wizard Saints.
"Kid, I admit you're strong. But don't get cocky. Next time we meet will be your funeral!"
Racer immediately turned and bolted. If he couldn't win, he could run—that was the advantage of his magic.
"Trying to run? I won't let you get away this time."
Shua!
In the next instant, Kael appeared right in front of Racer.
"What?!"
Racer jerked in shock and immediately changed direction.
But a second later, Kael was right beside him, running neck-and-neck.
Racer glared at Kael with a grimace. "You..."
Kael smiled at him. "Forgot to tell you—actually, I'm pretty fast too. And unlike your little trick that deceives others, mine is real speed."
Kael accelerated instantly, overtaking Racer in a heartbeat. Soon, Racer couldn't even see Kael's back.
"How is this possible?!"
Racer's eyes widened. His current state wasn't an illusion; it was genuine speed. This guy was actually faster than he was now.
While Racer was reeling from the shock, Kael whipped around and drove a fist toward him.
Because the speed was so extreme, Racer had no time to dodge. He frantically raised his arms to block.
BOOM!!
The terrifying force slammed his own arms into his chest.
"Gwahhh!"
Racer coughed up blood, screaming as he was sent flying backward.
Crack! Snap!
Racer's body crashed through several thick trees before finally coming to a stop.
Shaking, Racer slowly pushed himself up from the ground.
Kael walked up to him. "Oh? You can still stand?"
Racer gritted his teeth. "Don't underestimate me... I'm one of the Oracion Seis... the Six Demon Generals that will never crumble. Anyone who tries to challenge us only finds death!!"
"I see. Then I'll send you to your grave!"
Kael raised his palm, the crimson Red orb forming in his hand. He never showed mercy to his enemies.
"For the honor of the Oracion Seis!! I refuse to be defeated like this!!"
Racer shouted, tearing his clothes open to reveal explosive Lacrima strapped to his body.
"One kill for one life!! Let's die together!!"
With a look of pure madness, Racer lunged at Kael.
"Look out!!"
Seeing this, Wendy shouted a warning.
BOOM—!!!
A violent explosion erupted.
"Aghhh!!"
The powerful shockwave from the blast leveled the surrounding trees. Carla quickly shoved Wendy to the ground to shield her from the impact.
After a while, the shock of the explosion gradually subsided. Thick smoke filled the center of the blast, where several dozen meters of the forest had been utterly decimated.
"Kael... I have to save Kael!!"
Tears streamed down Wendy's face at the sight of the destruction. She immediately tried to rush over to find Kael and heal him.
Carla held her back. "Don't go, Wendy! An explosion like that... Kael... he's gone..."
Suddenly!
Kael's voice drifted out from the smoke.
"Hey, hey. Seriously, stop talking like I'm a goner. I'm still alive and well."
Kael's silhouette emerged from the heart of the explosion. Not only was he unharmed, but even the edges of his clothes were perfectly clean.
"Kael!"
Seeing Kael safe, Wendy ran over in joy.
"How is that possible?! An explosion that terrifying... and you're fine?!"
Carla was in disbelief. The crater was right there, yet Kael was untouched. It was incomprehensible.
"Well, to put it simply, it didn't hit me."
"Didn't hit you?! This place was leveled! How did it not hit you?!"
Carla stared at the massive crater. There was nowhere for Kael to have hidden.
Kael explained, "The explosion hit the 'Infinity' between me and it. No matter how close it got, it never actually touched me. Though, if that blast was ten times stronger or if the explosions lasted for five minutes straight, I might not be able to hold it."
Carla retorted, "That's already absurd enough!!"
Ten times stronger? Exploding for five minutes? Was he joking?!
Even though she already knew Kael was a monster, she hadn't expected him to be this terrifying.
Kael was telling the truth, but he only said he couldn't "hold" it, not that he couldn't "dodge" it. Acting tough once or twice was enough; he had no interest in standing still and taking hits.
At that moment, Wendy noticed Racer at the center of the blast. His clothes were shredded, and he lay there motionless, covered in wounds.
Wendy asked fearfully, "He... he..."
Kael nodded. "Yeah, he's live."
You had to hand it to him—he was still alive, badly injured, even after that kind of blast.
Fortunately, Kael was kind-hearted. Not wanting to see the guy suffer, he killed him directly, ending it once and for all.
Some might try to redeem villains later on, but Kael didn't. He would ruthlessly eliminate any threat to himself or the safety of Fairy Tail.
