They stared at the immense, pink-colored behemoth before them.
This was the originally Vipralopa-class Honkai beast corpse that Elysia had brought back, already named 'Maheśvara,' and naturally, it was kept here in Mobius's lab.
"So... she came out of this thing?"
"That's right~ Even I was quite startled at the time~"
"Then... Vya, can you still turn into something like this?"
Mobius crouched down, pointing at 'Maheśvara' as she asked the little girl.
Vya shook her head. "I don't know... Vya was asleep back then..."
"Asleep? Honkai beasts sleep?"
"Mhm, mhm."
Vya nodded vigorously, her eyes brimming with innocence.
It seemed the anomalous Honkai energy fluctuations back in Vladivostok 51... might have been because of this little one.
The fiery intensity in Mobius's eyes had completely vanished now. Perhaps... taking it slow and studying her carefully was better. Maybe she could bring even more surprises.
A long-term observation specimen...
...
"Bring her back tomorrow. I have other matters to attend to."
Mobius's voice had returned to its usual cool detachment.
"Alrighty, no problem! See you tomorrow, Mobius~"
"Goodbye, Sister Mobius~"
Vya waved at Mobius. In her heart, she had already decided this Sister Mobius was a truly good person, despite her tough exterior.
After all, the light people gave off couldn't lie~
Mobius watched the two figures leave. 'Hmm... neither of them is simple. Elysia... when will you ever willingly spill your own secrets?'
She didn't believe for a second that so-called 'perfect Honkai resistance' could just appear so easily in a human.
...
Leaving the laboratory, Elysia took Vya back towards the dormitories. Along the way, she greeted everyone, proudly showing off her little sister.
"Look~ This is my sister, Vya~ Isn't she adorable?"
Seeing so many unfamiliar faces, Vya couldn't help feeling a bit shy.
Thanks to Elysia's immense popularity, news about the girl spread quickly through the base.
Because Vya really was incredibly cute~ That slightly timid demeanor made people instinctively want to protect her.
But this child didn't need any protecting, oh no~
Elysia then brought Vya to a certain department office and pushed the door open.
"Well, if it isn't Blanca~ I'm here~"
"Oh? Elysia, you're back from your mission?"
The gentle, blue-haired woman was cradling an adorable baby in her arms.
Griseo, at this point, was quietly sucking on her fingers in her mother's embrace, curiously eyeing the newcomers.
"Here, let me introduce you~ Vya, my little sister~"
Elysia gently nudged Vya forward.
"So this is the sister you mentioned..."
"Haha, it's practically all over the base. They say you brought back a long-lost sister from outside. This must be her."
Blanca smiled warmly at Vya. As a new mother, she naturally adored children, and... Vya was very cute.
Vya also looked at Blanca with curiosity. Blanca emanated a soft, gentle azure light that felt incredibly warm.
As for the little sister in her arms, she only gave off a faint, pure white glow... untainted and pristine.
That light was as pure as freshly fallen snow, without a hint of impurity.
So beautiful.
"Go on, say hello to Sister Blanca~"
"Mhm, hello, Sister Blanca!"
Vya's face still wore that sweet smile.
"Hello there, little Vya."
Blanca crouched down. "This is my daughter. Her name is Griseo."
Blanca adjusted her hold, and Griseo's tiny hand made a little grasping motion in the air.
"Mhm, Sister Griseo is so pretty!"
"Thank you. You're very lovely too~"
Vya praised sincerely. She cautiously reached out her hand, and Griseo's warm little fingers wrapped around it.
Blanca couldn't help but pat Vya's head. Vya quite enjoyed being enveloped in that soothing azure light; it felt very comfortable.
And the white light from little Griseo was comforting too.
It was true. Vya had seen many people, but such pure radiance was indeed rare. It was truly beautiful.
A little while later, Blanca had managed to lull Griseo to sleep.
"Blanca, I'm back."
A deep, robust voice called from further down the hall. It belonged to a man with blue hair.
"Well, if it isn't Ato~ What's this? Does the busy man finally have some free time?"
Seeing who it was, Elysia immediately began teasing.
"Elysia's here too. Listen to you. As MOTH's golden girl, aren't you the one always wandering around the base all day?"
Ato said with a laugh, walking over to Blanca's side and looking down at Griseo with concern.
"Dear, has our daughter been behaving?"
"Honestly, of course she has."
"You're right. She is my daughter, after all!"
Ato chuckled heartily.
"Quiet, you. Lower your voice, don't wake Griseo."
Blanca shot Ato a mildly reproachful look.
"Right, right, right..."
Ato quickly softened his tone, then turned his attention to Vya. He had noticed the unfamiliar face earlier, but... his daughter came first.
"Elysia, you didn't... pick this child up from somewhere, did you?"
Ato joked.
Vya had been studying Ato too. The light around him was a deep navy, fierce yet steady.
But hearing his words, Vya immediately frowned.
"No, I did not! It took me so long to finally find my sister!"
Seeing the little girl's flustered reaction, Ato realized he'd misspoken.
"Ato, Vya is practically like my own little sister~ She's definitely not picked up off the street~"
Elysia added with a smile.
"Haha, my mistake, I shouldn't have joked like that..."
Ato laughed awkwardly, glancing at his wife. Blanca just smiled and shook her head.
"Honestly~ Don't you remember? You actually saw Vya before, back in Vladivostok."
Elysia reminded him.
"Did I? Let me think..."
Ato thought for a moment, drawing a blank. The reason he remembered Elysia was simply because she was rather memorable.
He thought harder.
"Oh... was she the one with you then...?"
Only then did he vaguely dredge up a fragment of memory. There had indeed been a small figure beside Elysia back then, but he could hardly be blamed—it was quite a while ago.
"Exactly. You're such a busy man these days, Ato~ It's normal you'd forget."
Elysia teased. Hearing this, Blanca covered her mouth with a light laugh.
"Alright, alright, enough joking."
Ato took a good look at Vya. She didn't match the small image in his memory at all. Back then, Vya must have been only three or four years old. Compared to now... the change was naturally huge.
"Do you remember me?"
Vya shook her head. "No."
That was normal too, given it was several years in the past.
"Nice to meet you, little one. I'm Ato. If you ever run into trouble, you can come find me."
Ato offered a hearty, open smile.
"Mhm, I'm Vya."
Vya said slowly.
"Oh, Vya, you must remember to call him Uncle Ato~"
Elysia wore a mischievous grin.
"What kind of talk is that? Do I look that old?"
"It's punishment for your earlier joke~ Besides, calling Blanca 'Sister' and you 'Uncle' fits perfectly, doesn't it?"
Elysia stated matter-of-factly.
"No way...!"
Ato protested.
But in the end, Ato lost the battle and was firmly crowned with the title of 'Uncle.'
