Noel pulled his robe tighter around himself, tying the belt with quick fingers. The fabric felt thin against his skin, not enough to block the way Bennett was looking at him or the way his knee was trying to poke something. His face was hot... part fever, part something else... and he couldn't hide it completely.
He took a step back, pushing Bennett's knee away with his leg. The movement was careful. As always.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Noel said. His voice came out polite, like when he wanted distance.
Bennett raised both hands, palms out, still smiling. "Then show me I'm wrong," he said easily. "That's all I want. Do you want me to check myself?"
Noel swallowed. His mouth felt dry.
The memories from the dark room came back clearly... The rough kiss on his lips, the mouth on his chest and the other hand in his pants. He couldn't picture faces, just the heat and the pressure. Thinking about it now made him react even when he tried not to.
