Cathy was gone most of the day, and Evie spent time with only Helga and Lila.
"Your highness, where is Cathy?" Helga asked.
"Sent her on a task," Evie said, then an idea clicked in her mind, and she smiled.
"Helga, I want you to go look for Conner and ask him if, by any chance, he has letters from Max. We haven't heard from him in a while," Evie said.
"Okay, your highness," Helga said, but left half-heartedly.
Evie giggled, looking at her back.
"Your highness, what are you laughing at?" Lila asked.
"You are young, Lila. You will know once you are old," Evie said, tapping her nose.
"I am grown, your highness. Stop treating me like a child," Lila said, her lips puffed, pouting.
"What adult pouts?" Evie said with a smile.
Thud. They heard a sound which made both of them turn, looking at the source.
A scroll rolled and landed next to them out of nowhere.
"What is that?" Lila asked, making Evie shrug. "I don't know. Go pick it up for me," she asked.
