"So you finally woke up?" Asked Inpu calmly. He was standing outside.
"Hey Inpu, I had a strange dream." Kai said while rubbing his eyes. When he got out, he stood dumbstruck. In front, there was a large mediaeval European-style castle; he was currently standing at the highest peak of Mt Kumotori.
An adult man came out of the castle's giant main door.
"Dear sir, may I see your permit card, please?" The man asked very politely.
Kai took out his red permit card from the inner pocket of his overcoat. He himself first checked the card to see if those strange letters had changed yet, but no. It was the same. Kai gave his permit to the man.
The man's eyes flickered when he checked Kai's permit card. "Please follow me." He said.
Kai started walking behind the man with his trunk. Kai was looking all around him in fascination. The corridor in which they were walking had a very long red carpet with a yellow border line. The wall on the left side had many long windows through which warm sunlight was entering, while the other side had many doors with golden plates on them and various paintings. The man stopped near a decorated door.
"Please go inside." Said the man, and handed the red permit card back to Kai.
"But who's inside—" Before Kai could finish his question, the man walked away with Kai's trunk. Now Kai was standing there alone, a little scared. He read the golden plate on the door – Headmaster. 'Why am I meeting the headmaster on the very day...is it because of my permit card?' Kai slapped his face with both hands. 'No, be positive, Kai. It might be the normal procedure for every student.' Kai knocked on the door.
"Come in." An old but hard and deep voice said from inside.
Kai slowly opened the door and entered. He saw an old man sitting on a luxury chair with an antique desk in front. The old man had long silver hairs tied in a large braid, and a silver beard which reached his chest was tied with a golden ring-like bead. He wore a long red robe with a scarlet cloak on it and had a long wooden staff beside him which had a quadrilateral crystal at the top. His was wrinkled, but he didn't look aged, and a scar was there on his right eye.
"Kai, I suppose?" Said the old man very gently.
"Y-yes."
"Sit."
Kai walked further inside the room (he was standing near the door this whole time) and sat on a sofa in the middle of the room. There was one girl sitting too; she looked like a student, probably of the same age as Kai. Her face was stern. She has purplish-blue sparkling eyes and long, open, blackish-blue hair with two small extra braids. Everything she wore looked normal, but her lotus hair clip attracted Kai; it looked odd.
"I am Axarcus, the headmaster of this academy." Said the old man.
Kai has heard the name before. "Axarcus-sama—"
"It will be better if you use 'mister' in place of 'sama'. "I'm not Japanese, you see." Said Axarcus in a very friendly way.
"Mr Axarcus, why have you called me in your office?"
"Please wait for a while more. One more student is expected to come."
In the meantime, Kai began to observe the room. Bookshelves, armour stands, paintings, two sofas in the middle, and one large window behind Mr Axarcus. Kai's eyes again went where the girl was sitting. The girl's eyes met Kai's; his breath hitched.
"I am Kanhatsu. Nice to meet you." Said she, her voice was very pleasant and smooth, reflecting pure femininity, but she was almost expressionless.
"I'm Takashi Kai; you can call me Kai. Nice to meet you too."
Kanhatsu was staring at him. She came closer to Kai, her eyes fixed, not even blinking. "You look like -- a very interesting person." Said she with the same expressionless face and in a voice telling that she's curious about something.
"Th-thanks, I guess."
Someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," said Mr Axarcus.
A boy entered the room. He had long, bony white hairs tied at various lengths to make a long rope like this; his right eye was covered by the hairs in front. His big eyes were dancing around the room very enthusiastically, and he had a twig in his mouth. He was smiling, showing his raw excitement and energy. He wore an old hanfu, with a gap around his chest area.
"Caihong, I suppose."
"Yes! And you must be Mr Axarcus." The boy looked very energetic. "Kanhatsu!" Caihong exclaimed as soon as he saw the girl. Kanhatsu looked a little annoyed.
'They probably know each other,' thought Kai.
Mr Axarcus stood up and walked in front of us with his staff. Kanhatsu and Kai also stood and walked near Caihong.
"So Kai, Kanhatsu, and Caihong."
"Yes!!!" The three said together.
"Let me introduce myself again." 'Said Mr Axarcus while caressing his beard. "I am Axarcus, the headmaster of this Tenshikai Academy, one of the three big academies for the blessed beings." He continued, "Here in Tenshikai, several trios of three random students are formed, and one instructor is appointed for each trio. This helps students in growing better, as their team instructor can focus on them properly."
"So does every trio individually meet you, like us?" Asked Kanhatsu.
"No. You three are a special case."
Caihong looked very excited. "So why are we special?" He asked enthusiastically.
"The further information will be told to you by the appointed teacher for your trio."
At that time, the air in the room became very dense, and out of nowhere, the pressure on our bodies increased several times. The door behind us creaked open, and a man entered the room
