"Where did you get hurt?" Shubham asked.
"I must have gotten it somewhere. I didn't notice," Nidhi replied honestly. She really did not remember.
"Did someone trouble you?" Shubham looked straight into her eyes. Fear and care were clearly visible in his expression. "Who was it?"
"There was no one," Nidhi said calmly to reassure him. "I didn't even realize I was hurt. It's okay. I don't feel any pain."
Shubham lowered his head and tried to control the anger rising in his eyes.
How dare anyone hurt his Nidhi?
He was determined to find out the truth. He knew Nidhi would never tell him anything.
"I'm applying the medicine. It may sting a little," he said softly.
He carefully applied the ointment with extremely gentle hands. When he touched her skin, it felt as soft as cotton.
"If it hurts, please tell me. Don't endure it silently."
But in the past, even when Nidhi had been stabbed several times, she had not cried. How could she cry over such a small scratch?
