It was dark.
I couldn't see anything.
But oddly enough, it felt rather warm, and it felt quite safe.
But this moment of peace was quickly taken away when everything around me suddenly began to rumble.
I didn't know where I was or why I was still alive; all I could remember was falling unconscious when I bled out on the floor.
Suddenly, I felt myself moving downwards, and a cold breeze hit the top of my head, and a pair of large hands were holding it.
What was happening? And why was I so calm?
As I continued to move downwards, the hands wrapped around the back of my head and seemed to support it with a gentle hold.
What's weird was that I felt something pushing all around my head. I couldn't quite place what it was, but it felt like rubber bands tightening and loosening all at the same time around my head.
But once my ears had gotten past the band-like ring, the sounds of a woman screaming immediately hit me. I tried opening my eyes, but weirdly enough, I couldn't really open them, and they felt rather heavy.
"AHHHH!" the woman screamed as I continued to exit the warm location and enter a completely new and cold location.
"Come on, ma'am! Keep pushing! He's almost out!" a male voice exclaimed.
"AHHHH!" the woman continued to scream as my legs finally escaped the warm location.
"Ma'am... you did it... it's over." The male voice spoke, all the while breathing a bit heavily.
"May... I... see... my baby?" the woman spoke, her voice exhausted.
The hands holding me then suddenly wrapped me in a rather large blanket and then quickly moved and placed me next to someone rather large.
"Miss Higure... it's a healthy baby boy," the male voice spoke.
Feeling the large individual shift a bit, they seemed to have placed their hand on me and slowly began caressing my head.
"Oh, my sweet boy..." she whispered directly at me.
And with that simple sentence, a sudden realization hit me in the face... the woman speaking right now and currently laying beside me... was my mother.
Thousands of questions began to manifest. How did this happen? Why was I a baby? And why couldn't I open my eyes?
"What would you like to name him, Miss Higure?" another female voice spoke.
"Toji... his name will be Toji," my mother said, holding my face with a gentle motion.
"Thank you, ma'am... for now, we would like to place your son inside one of our observation rooms. Due to the rather strange mutations your son has, we are obligated to watch over him just in case anything happens," the other female voice explained.
"Will I be able to see him?" my mother said, tired but determined.
"Once you're feeling better, ma'am, you are more than welcome to come visit. But for now, please rest," the female voice spoke.
My mother, though a bit nervous and still really tired, moved her head closer towards me and placed a small kiss on my forehead before I was quickly taken away.
Now being carried away by the nurse and being placed in some kind of cradle, I was then taken away to their observation room, where they said I would be observed.

(Doctor POV)
Another successful operation.
I was currently inside my office, writing down the needed information about the newborn child.
To say I was tired was an understatement. Miss Higure had just spent the last five hours giving birth to one of the strangest children I had ever laid eyes upon.
The child in question was named Toji. He had pale white skin, but that was far from strange. He had a rather long head that resembled an insect and multiple small wings that replaced his eyes.
He didn't even have eye sockets or eyes to begin with, so him seeing anything would be a challenge. I was honestly quite scared delivering him.
Not because of his appearance, but because of the lack of crying he had exhibited.
Normally, when a baby is born, they would immediately start crying, but in Toji's case...
Well, he seemed to be unusually calm and would only react when someone was either touching him or speaking.
But despite his rather strange disposition, he seemed rather healthy for a child of his size.
Though, with all the strange features he exhibited, we were obligated to take him away for observation to make sure nothing was wrong with him.
Once we made sure there was nothing wrong with little Toji, we could quickly return him to his mother... I wonder where the father is?
Miss Higure didn't seem to arrive with anyone, and her wearing a shrine maiden's outfit made me believe she was a priestess of some kind.
Maybe she—
"Doctor! We need you immediately!" the nurse exclaimed, knocking me out of my thoughts.
"What happened!" I quickly got up from my chair.
"It's the new baby! Something just appeared on his head!" the nurse explained.
Running out of my office, I moved as fast as I could towards the observation room, where I could see multiple nurses watching and panicking.
"What is it!? What happened?!" I asked the panicking nurses.
"We don't know!? We were just watching him, and suddenly something appeared on the baby's head!" they explained.
Looking through the window, a large golden eight-handled wheel was floating above the sleeping baby.
As I stared, dumbfounded by this discovery, I looked towards the panicking nurses and asked why they were panicking. He didn't seem hurt or distressed.
They simply pointed towards one of the walls, and I quickly found out why they were panicking.
The entire left side of the crib that Toji was in was completely gone, like something had eaten or ripped it to shreds.
Stepping back from the window, I felt... excited.
This kid... was going to be special.
