Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

~Episode 8~

He walked fast on his way to school, the road was filled with chaos. Everyone was busy going on their daily routine. Ivan walked fast, as he was running out of time. Blood flowed down his leg.

He walked faster, tears streamed down his face. He cried until he finally stopped.

He fell to the ground accidentally with the weight of his pain. He had been holding on for a long time. He couldn't handle himself anymore to take out his emotions.

His eyes fell on the front of the road. A dead bird lay in front of him.

"The weak die easily," someone whispered softly behind Ivan. He was tall like Ivan, his eyes were also the same. They looked similar in age, but not like twins. His hair was long but he combed it well. His uniform was completely neat and clean. He looked like a perfect guy whose grades always came A positive.

"Are you okay? Your hand?" he asked him.

He took his hands to his pant pocket, grabbed a white handkerchief, and landed it beside Ivan's ear. He didn't look at it twice, he was just lying there like he didn't care who stood beside him or who offered him a handkerchief. After seeing no response from Ivan, he moved forward, bent down, and wrapped his wound with his handkerchief.

Ivan, after seeing him in front of him, stopped crying. But his tears were still on his cheeks. The boy Ryaan could see his tears clearly, but he pretended he didn't.

"Are you okay now? Do you need to go to the hospital?" Ryaan asked with concern.

"No, I'm okay." Ivan's low voice came out breaking due to his sobbing.

Ryaan noticed Ivan's uniform. It was a white shirt and blue pants. But it looked messy, not ironed or washed. He couldn't identify which school Ivan was from, but they looked similar in age.

Ryaan casually asked him while they both started walking on the road, "Your school uniform looks like mine. Are we at the same school?"

"Which class?"

Ivan looked down at his shoes. He was trying to avoid the awkwardness and discomfort. It had been a long time since he talked to a stranger who was behaving very nicely to him and asking so many questions in one meeting.

"Eleventh."

"We're in the same class." Ryaan's eyes landed on Ivan, his cheeks were shining. He started smiling because he found out they were in the same class.

After seeing Ivan's discomfort while holding the bag, Ryaan took Ivan's bag and carried it on his shoulder, where he already held his own. So basically, he held two bags. But Ivan's bag was not heavy—it was very weightless.

"Do you enjoy school?" Ryaan asked, wanting to talk to him more and make him comfortable.

"There's nothing to enjoy there," Ivan said with a sigh.

"Jail would be more fun than school, wouldn't it?" Ryaan chuckled, mocking him.

"I don't think so," Ivan refused.

"Do you believe in the law?" Ryaan asked with some seriousness.

"I believe in justice." Ivan looked up straight. It came very fast. He didn't take one second to answer this question.

"Oh—so you want to become a cop?" Ryaan assumed it, more like joking to lower the tension between them.

"I don't know… I haven't thought about anything yet." Ivan's tone was hopeless.

"Well. I want to become a murderer." Ryaan said proudly.

Ivan stood frozen by his weird answer.

"What?"
