Chapter 62 - Chapter 57: Annihilating the Meereenese Fleet

When Viserys's cold words fell, the remaining Wise Masters in the hall completely lost any thought of opportunism. Their arrogance rapidly melted away in the face of true power, leaving only fear and despair.

Kraznys was eventually dragged away by the Unsullied who had captured the city. He, along with the other captured Wise Masters, would face a public trial.

This was not a noble's trial like in Westeros, but a temporary council composed of all the slaves of Yunkai and the surrendered lower-class Freemen would conduct the trial.

On the day of the trial, when the mountain of slave trade contracts and countless testimonies from slaves and Freemen were presented one by one, the outcome of the trial was without suspense. Kraznys and his core cronies were sentenced to public execution. All their property was confiscated, with a portion used for the city's reconstruction.

As for family members whose crimes were relatively minor, or who could prove they had not bought, sold, or abused slaves, they were sentenced to forced labor, fines, or exile.

Viserys was still quite clear-headed. He knew that absolute slaughter would only provoke a desperate resistance from the noble classes of other city-states. Leaving some leeway, however, could give those people a glimmer of potential hope. What he needed was people and resources, not just territory.

Viserys continued the method he used in Astapor, establishing a temporary management framework. He promoted some local Yunkai residents and selected representatives from among the outstanding slaves and Freemen.

These were all temporary measures.

Upon learning that the Targaryen three-headed dragon banner had been raised over Yunkai, Meereen's reinforcements retreated in a panic, taking the news back with them.

This was exactly what Viserys wanted.

After all, he did not want to go to war with Meereen yet. Yunkai had just been taken, and Astapor was not yet completely stable. He needed to coordinate the resources of both cities to ensure that at least these people would not starve to death.

Moreover, most of the soldiers in these Slavers Bay cities were composed of slaves and a small number of Freemen. Therefore, this Meereenese army was also

However, Meereen's navy took a different path. The fleet commander, Maloqchi, was of Great Master origin, young and ambitious, and he needed military achievements to solidify his family's status. He scoffed at the army's 'cowardice,' believing that the sea was a place where the power of dragons could not be fully exerted. He even fantasized that if he could kill or severely wound a dragon, his prestige would reach its absolute peak.

With the support of some hawkish Great Masters, he led nearly a hundred warships and began to operate actively in the central Slavers Bay, carrying out harassment and blockade missions. This included hijacking transport ships traveling between Astapor and Yunkai, attempting to cut off Viserys's sea supply lines, and even seizing opportunities to attack vulnerable coastal towns.

When Viserys heard this news, a cold light flashed in his eyes. The army's previous retreat could be ignored, but the navy's actions of cutting off his retreat and continuously provoking him had to be met with the fiercest counterattack.

He connected his consciousness to Blackflame, far away on the Valyrian Peninsula, instructing it to rush over at full speed. At the same time, he personally rode Ghidorah, attacking from the land direction, forming a pincer movement with Blackflame, determined to completely annihilate this fleet, leaving no survivors.

Two days later, at noon, in the central waters of Slavers Bay.

Maloqchi stood on the bow of the flagship, the raging surf, full of self-satisfaction. Another batch of captured supplies was being moved onto the ship, and he seemed to already see the admiring gazes of the other Great Masters when he returned triumphantly.

"Maintain formation, continue onward, lookouts stay vigilant for the sky," he ordered. Although he inwardly dismissed dragons, basic caution was still necessary.

But his current confidence completely collapsed an hour later.

The first to discover the anomaly was the western side of the fleet.

"Dragon. A golden one, it has three heads. It's coming for us!" The lookout's warning cry broke the calm of the sea.

Maloqchi rushed to the western side of the warship. In the western sky, a colossal golden object was breaking through the clouds, diving down at an astonishing speed. Its three majestic dragon heads instilled fear even from a distance.

It was the legendary three-headed dragon king that had appeared in Astapor. A figure wearing black and red armor sat on its neck.

"It's him. All ships turn. Scorpion crossbows ready. Archers ready!" Maloqchi quickly ordered, his heart pounding. He hadn't expected Viserys to actually come riding a dragon.

Fear and a trace of morbid excitement intertwined on his face.

The fleet's ships were struggling to turn, trying to aim their scorpion crossbows at the approaching Ghidorah. The crossbowmen continuously adjusted their firing angles. However, Ghidorah's dive trajectory suddenly changed. Instead of charging straight into the heart of the fleet, it swept past the western outer perimeter of the fleet in an elegant arc at high speed.

Viserys adjusted his posture and sat steadily, calmly observing the fleet's reaction below. His goal was clear: first, create chaos and attract attention, creating the best conditions for Blackflame's surprise attack from another direction.

Ghidorah's left head spewed icy breath, a blue frost breath sweeping over two parallel warships. The sails and rigging instantly froze, becoming stiff and brittle, and the sailors on deck were frozen into ice sculptures, not even uttering a scream.

The right head, meanwhile, spewed scorching Dragonflame, igniting the hold and deck of another ship.

The golden ray from the middle head directly cut two warships in half. There was nothing left where it swept, and the broken warships slowly sank to the bottom of the sea.

"Steady, don't panic, we can win. Aim at it, fire!" Scorpion crossbows on Maloqchi's flagship, the raging surf, fired. Several bolts whistled towards Ghidorah, but the giant dragon nimbly evaded them, the bolts futilely cutting through the sky.

The other warships' firing was even more scattered, with extremely low accuracy against the rapidly moving giant dragon. Even if they hit, they merely grazed its scales, causing no harm to the dragon; the most dangerous thing was Viserys himself.

Just as the entire fleet's attention was firmly drawn to Ghidorah on the west side, and their formation was thus thrown into disarray.

"East. Another dragon. Black." A piercing alarm sounded from the east of the fleet.

Maloqchi and many officers turned to look. On the eastern horizon, a pitch-black behemoth, even larger than Ghidorah, was flying close to the sea surface at a despair-inducing speed.

It was Blackflame. It had answered the summons and now joined the battlefield on time. And it cunningly chose the east, where the fleet's attention was most dispersed and its defenses weakest, as its point of breakthrough.

"Pincer attack." Maloqchi's mind went blank.

Blackflame had no desire to 'toy' with its prey like Ghidorah. It was like the pure embodiment of destruction, charging directly into the fleet.

Dark red, lava-like Dragonflame spewed from its mouth, instantly engulfing three warships that were clustered together.

"Boom."

The Dragonflame easily ignited the sails, the wooden hull, and the stored lamp oil on board. The three warships burned fiercely on the sea, thick smoke billowing into the sky, forming a sea of deadly fire. The scorching heatwave even affected nearby ships.
