Chapter 5 - 5. Protector Steven Part2

Our second encounter with opposing players, one that could be our final. Seeing those three confident ass players sprinting towards us at full speed made me flash back to an assigned killing back in 2016 when I was being chased by the Federal Bueru of Investigation.

Yep, the FBI. I was so unstoppable I had the USA on me as well. Now I had to use that experience as a starting point as of now.

Jake and I turned our backs to the attackers and created a scenario of being chased. To create a distraction we pressed the spawner button and continued running towards the cave entrance, hopping that the spiders would hold them up for some time.

"Aha, now they will be busy in the cave while we exit it," I said with an expectant look on my face betting everything on that one distraction.

But that team had planned in advance. Even though the spiders seemed devastating for us earlier on, that team of freaks managed to run right through them with absolutely no problem.

"Damn it, Jake where is the nearest merchant from here?" I asked desperate for a chance to hide.

"You think I know?" He asked in shok as neither of us had even knew that merchants exist.

"Shit."

We kept running, looking for a structure in hopes for a place to keep us hidden for a while.

That's when we found it. Hidden in the thick jungle just west of the cave, a giant tower that would probably shield us from the attackers.

Or so we thought, because when we entered the tower a weird bar showed up on our screens.

{Returned Sorcerer:270HP}

Jake froze. This turned out to be a boss, one from his favourite game, World of Danger.

This boss was a mage capable of explosions 3 times its size. When provoked it can also spawn minions that fight for it.

two minutes later

{Returned Sorcerer: defeated}

"My stealth skill is very handy," I thought to myself when I realised just what I had done.

In most of the bosses I had heard about in my adolescence, they had a weak point somewhere on their body, so as Jake was talking about the boss I went around it and shot it 3 times behind on the back of its neck.

[System message: well done, boss defeated.]

[Earned 1500coins each]

[Granted merchant unlock]

"What are these coins for?" I thought to myself. But since the merchants were now unlocked, Jake and I then walked outside in search for one.

Well that was a stupid idea. Those attackers were waiting for us outside. Out of nowhere one shot at me, but only grazed the skin on my face.

Out of pure defeat Jake began proposing a truce, or possibly for us to team up as they could use some extra teammates.

"Come on guys, maybe we could truce for now, or maybe a team would work bes"

They settled for a truce. We then left hopping to never have to fight those people again and made a b line straight for a merchant.

After about an hour of walking later, we stumbled upon the merchant we were looking for. The merchant of the west.

There we found healing potions, bandages,

new guns like the M13 and the RPG and a nwe set of clothes along with some food for the journey which was way better than having to kill random rabbits to cook.

We payed for our items and we were on our way. The sun was setting and tge system had another surprise for us.

[System message]

[Monster parties are to begin in 15 minutes and will happen every night]

We kept ourselves ready for the monsters and be fore we knew it here they came.

A giant group of pandas rushed at us which really caught us by surprise as they hadn't attacked us before, but they didn't stand a chance as my micro submachine gun unloaded upon them litting the bullets rain upon them.

Jake's RPG just made the fight a whole lot easier as the pandas were blasted into oblivion in almost no time at all.

Then came the second wave, the even more dangerous zombie horde. These could turn a player into a zombie with 3 bites.

But still even though those zombies were strong the RPG Jake purchased was to powerful for them us making quik work of them.

[System message: well done]

[ Population now 96000]

That morning the system started to show its ruthlessness even more

[System message: population now 95250]

That meant that 750 players had been eliminated in their sleep. Further reducing the competition down.

Jake and I had then became even more anxious but excited about our survival up to this point.

The next few nights came swiftly, my guess was to make the population even smaller to encourage more player combat between the rest of us. Unfortunately the population was unknown. We continued to live in fear of our own demise wondering if this night would be the last time we would be acquainted.

We began raiding any structures we could find. We realised that the reward of coins that we would aquire was way too good for us to pass up on.

After 4 battle towers and 7 caves monster, we were rewarded with over 15000 coins each

These coins would be essential for our gearing up for the times that we would encounter other hostile players which we would frequently do within our time in this game.

We were no longer scared of the people that we would find, a bloodlust evident in the souls of us two. The dynamic duo who could enter any fight without thinking twice.

One of the most dangerous in the game at this moment in time.

A real danger to all the opposing players in the world created for battle between the most bloodthirsty people to ever live on earth.
