Chapter 7 - 7. Encounter with Insanity

The morning came, people died, business as usual but then as we were rowing in the middle of the sea, we began to sea the seashore.

Excitedly we rowed harder and faster, trying to reach the seashore before we have to fight the leviathan this time.

And before we knew it, we made it to the seashore.

But it wasn't like any normal island. It was kind of sampy with an orange or yellow like tint to it. It was very hard on the eyes. Difficult to really place but easy to disassociate from.

"What is this?" I thought to myself as we began exploring this unpleasant terrain slowly beginning to grow sick of it.

Then we found the answer to all my questions.

A sign, one that displayed the name of this twisted place

(Oasis Island)

"Why would it be called something so nice when in reality, it looks like a pile of vomit?" I asked Jake, completely dumb founded.

"I don't know man," Jake said."I think we should stop talking about it, it really is bothering me now. This place looks like a pile of shit."

"True that." I replied.

We continued walking, gagging every other minute when we were confronted by a giant mutant creatures. It had the face of a mammoth with the body of a bear.

"What the fuck was is THAT?" I shouted, evidently started by the giant figure in front of us that was clearly staring us down at this point.

I thought of what this horrific hybrid between animals was thinking, how it was probably looking at its meal that it was about to enjoy, bite after bite.

I could feel myself sweating through the clothes I purchased at the merchant all those days ago, fear building in my chest as if my body knew it was over before my mind could come to terms with such.

Jack wasn't doing any better, in fact he was shaking.

We probably thought the exact same thing, if we don't fight this thing, there would be no saving us altogether.

So i grabbed my weapon of a gun, my M13 and let loose on that mutant. Bullet after bullet, just finishing mag after mag, pummeling this creatures till it's demise.

The whole fight only lasted about one minute.

I left the body of the mutant, fully mutilated. Indescribable, one wouldn't be able to tell what i had just killed.

Jake was surprised at my ruthlessness, how I just killed the thing without second thought.

He was surprised but also confident about his chances of surviving as he had a teammate who could kill without batting an eye.

We continued walking but decided preemptively that we would set up camp preety early during this trip as it would be dangerous to continue walking at such times.

Then the monster parties came

This monster party was nothing like we had ever experienced before. This time it was spiders, poisoning bees, bears and even more of those mutants.

I was confident coming into this battle but that was preety short lived as i was stung by the poisoning bees.

The poisoning bees, a very dangerous species, this species' venom can put tge victim in an out of body experience. This experience varies between its victims.

Jake tried to wake me up, but my lifeless body was not doing anything if the above.

My out of body experience was set in a scenario where i would have to watch Jake take on this monster party all on his own without any help.

I had to have no input on this. All his da to do was to watch. I had to hold out hope for Jake.

"Come on Jake, you have to do this. Come on."

Jake started shooting, bullets flying, an all out warzone set in place for my view. I felt like one of the Gods watching over us players, seeing whou would survive the longest out of all of us.

I had to support Jake. Even though he had no help in a fight bigger than all the other fights we had fought in combined, if I wasn't going to support him who would.

Jake surprisingly was holding his own in a fight, so dangerous. I wouldn't be able to do half the things that he was doing on my own if he was put in such a scenario later on.

The fight was gruelling. Long, painful and jawdropping. The kind that tie couldn't take your eyes off of. It came to a point where most of our weapons ran out of ammunition.

It was just the pistol remaining. Unsurprisingly my favourite weapon. When no other weapon can be used, the pistol will always be there.

A reliable backup, that's why I like it so much.

As I was watching Jake pump bullet after bullet into the remaining enemies, my eyes went wide.

Jake had just managed to kill all those monsters all on his own.

As I watched him kill the last of the monsters

I started withering away slowly, deliberately, like I was leaving this simulation to go to a real fight which was kind of frustrating.

Though the fight was over, I wanted to continue looking at things from this point of view.

When I opened my eyes, I saw an even more horrific thing.

Jake was on top of my body giving me ches compressions. I thought things couldn't have gotten more weird. Turns out, I was wrong.

"What are you doing, get off of me man," I said to Jake.

"Your alive!!" He celebrated.

I was so flustered, how do I explain that i was watching him fight, while my soul left my body.
